Oh, this is another trap by chicks to make us completely take over domestic duties, so they don't have to do anything except showing up & looking pretty. I think they started with stuff like a man who can cook is sexy, which make all the boys rush to the kitchen to cook in hope of getting in her panties. In doing so, women are objectifying themselves as sex objects, because when a man can do everything including cooking & cleaning & other domestic stuff, what else does he need a woman for except for sex? Emotional support? Hah!

I do this all the time at house parties, btw, as my parents taught me good manners, that I should help the host out with the cleaning up if I'm invited to one. It has never helped me with picking up at all.

This article reminded me of my Uncle Rod we'll call him.

After every holiday get together (where the women slave hours the night before on the meal and preparations), my Uncle Rod does the dishes. He will not let the women help.

My Uncle Rod is one of the best men I have ever met in my life, and I am proud that he happens to be a member of my family. He and his wife celebrated their 50th anniversary about 6 years ago. The happiest marriage I have ever seen, I have never seen two people more in love to this day.

His wife is the sweetest woman in the world. The two of them are an inspiration to me and have not witnessed many like them.

Last year the News ran a two page article on Uncle Rod, he is a war hero on top of everything else. And a full fledged volunteer at I think it was the VA hospital. There were a few other amazing details. This I did not know.

He is a great man. Doing the dishes was his choice, and it didn't make him any less of a man, if anything, it made him more of one. None of his decisions are based on what anyone else thinks of him or what they think he should do. He does what he thinks is the right thing to do, and that is how he has always lived his life.

He seems to be one of the most satisfied people I have ever known in life. I think he is a good example of a DJ.

Respect to your uncle's relationship longevity but I'm guessing that your aunt didn't marry him because he did the dishes although they're probably still together because of it. That's different than what the article is suggesting. Nowadays this will more than likely work for men who want to attract women who want to be provided for; besides, most people have dishwashers anyway.

You bring up a good point. A guy who has his own place and keeps it up should be more attractive than a guy doing dishes. It takes the guy out of being perceived as a provider and makes him look like more like a survivor; self sufficient and under control.

I was raised in a household that encouraged cleaning up after yourself, not using a simple household task to attract women.

I agree with you, and I don't think the guy in the article was doing it as a pick up tool. I think he was just doing it because he thought it would be a good idea to help out. The article was just an observation of the reaction of the women around him.

Anyways, I posted it mostly out of humour. I don't give a sh!t if you guys wash dishes or play in traffic! :kick:

I believe this issue was circumvented by the man who invented the machine known as the dishwasher.

You do have to bend over to put them in usually, so maybe that does something for some women, though I doubt it. Maybe doing the laundry could have the same effect. If not why not?
