Matt Walsh is a guy who has been married 10+ years. Unlike Rollo Tomassi, who has been married 20+ years, he has spent less time studying the mating environment.

Matt Walsh has a few good points about men being more clear in defining terms of interactions. That's a good thing.

However, if he's arguing for more men to get married, he's missing a huge point. What are the incentives for men to marry?

More than half of marriages fail at some point as evidenced by the probability of a divorce at any time during the marriage. Additionally, there are couples who stay married after one or both partners has an affair. That's a failed marriage too, but that's a statistic more difficult to measure since there isn't a divorce and severing of the union. Both affairs and divorces are failures.

If there is a divorce, a man typically loses financial assets. Why take that risk if you are able to get pussie without putting a ring on it?

The article is based on a male friend of the author's who is 37 and 'hangs out' with a woman and that rubs Matt Walsh the wrong way, hence the admonition to stop being confused about relationships and man up.
But he didn't tell us the age of that woman ... I'd bet if she was in her twenties and a virgin, then his friend wouldn't have been 'confused' about their relationship and wouldn't have been satisfied with just 'hanging out'.

When we tied the knot in October of 2011, we were vowing our lives to the other person, even though we'd never lived in the same state. We'd rarely spent more than two consecutive days with each other. We didn't know all of each other's bad habits. We didn't know what the other was like on a day-to-day basis.

That pretty much sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

Yeah, but there's a big difference between preparing yourself and just crossing your fingers and stepping into abyss. One can train for months for a heavy squat or attempt it after a couple of gym visits and unsurprisingly hurt himself.

I'm fairly conservative, but TradCons got male/female relationship dynamics WRONG. I suspect the TradCon fantasy has zeroed out more men than anything else.

That's Rollo Tomassi's viewpoint on TradCons and close to my view on TradCons.

A Real Man would take care of another man's kids.

We both agree that is a cuck and not a real man.

A Real Man would let his wife run the house and relationship.

Too many men do this right now. It eventually destroys LTRs/marriages but the destruction happens so slowly. It's one of those things that happens when you see a 10 year marriage ending a divorce.

A Real Man would support his wife financially and emotionally and not worry about the dudes she's talking to in private.

Talking to other random men is not acceptable in any way.

They were 2 random people in a long distance relationship. They got married despite never dating locally.

Somehow they are still married 12 years later. Longevity doesn't mean quality. Most people think long term married couples are happy otherwise they wouldn't be married.

The 55-75 year old early Gen X/Boomer tradcon would be more expected to be out of touch with the current era of dating.

That article is disaster for men. An article like that pisses me off to a certain extent. Let's recognize there is a serious loneliness epidemic for men but let's provide a recipe for disastrous marriages leading to the meat grinder of divorce as a solution. Matt Walsh has definitely earned his title of "Simp of the Year." Then again, his boss is Ben Shapiro, so it doesn't surprise me that the whole Daily Wire collective is trying to destroy men and society at large.
