Match.com, Anyone?

How is it?

After a two year sabbatical from the ladies, I signed up about two weeks ago. I say hesitantly because people for years have told me I should give it a try, but Internet dating has been nothing but hassles for me in the past. But, I work 60-70 hours a week between two jobs and it's hard to meet people while living in the "real world". But so far, I've created a little profile and have been cruising around match.com. One thing I really like are the reverse matches; don't show me what I want, I want to know who's looking for me and then pick out any I like. The stastitical odds are simply better.

One thing I find interesting is how the vast majority of the girls look all the same. They seem pretty much all middle of the road; some hot, some beautiful, some cute, some ugly; but workaholics, homebodies, or something else; those girls you never would never bump into in public. This is actually a bit of a problem for me because I prefer edgey, counter-culture women, but the reverse match seems to be yielding some interesting results and I seem to be making some early progress.

You need to be in a major urban area for dating sites to have enough people to work. The last time I checked, Match had about two dozen fat chicks for me within an hour's drive, and that was it. In the same rural area, myspace has thousands of female accounts. Regardless of where you are located, you might also try meeting women on myspace to supplement Match. There are a lot of guys here who nay-say myspace and the Internet in general, but I have gotten laid from it. Like any approach, it can work if you do it well.

How is it?

'Match' did sh*t for me. A few hotties offered their numbers to me, but when I called, I never heard back. I will admit(see I admit when I have bad game), my game was bad on 2 chicks answering machines(that's what happens when you think too much about how and what you're going to say). My game was good on one chicks answering machine though.

I also got a few e-mail responses back from hotties, but that was it. Had good game too in the e-mails..I'll even post here the e-mails I exchanged, proving my game was good.

So, I canceled my account, and said the hell with 'Match'. I ain't paying $30(or whatever the f*ck it is) to be a chicks playtoy.

Not that this is important, but just to share...

I've twice tried Adultfriendfinder and twice got one mediocre date out of it, but 99% of the girls are either ugly, fake ads, or inactive. Plus, the ratio is about 10 men to one girl.

I once tried Singlesnet.com (their advertising is misleading) and the selection was still pretty crappy, but the hilarious thing was I received several unsolicited emails from ugly chicks who unsolicitedly gave me their phone number. Two of them told me where they worked. That's a lot of information to give someone you've never heard from.

Ten years ago when I first tried Internet personal ads, on Yahoo when it was still free, I once told a girl she was ugly and then spent a good deal of backpedaling trying to explain how I hadn't just told her she's ugly. I then bumped into her. Those were my boyish days.

Anyway, hopefully Match.com will be much better. I plopped down the extra dough for their "match guarantee"program, whereby if I don't find my perfect match—whatever that's suppose to mean—within six months I'll get another six months for free. I'll post a follow-up in six months.

No, not only that, but like I said, I emailed a buch of chix, some of which replied back, but that was it, and some who never replied. I also rarely ever got any emails from hotties. So, it was a waste to be on a site that wasn't producing any results for me. Why would you waste your time or invest any money in something, if it's not producing your desired outcome?

That's like saying, "Why go fishing if you're not catching any fish?"
Be patient, change up our technique, use new bait.
The fish aren't going to jump into your boat.
Use different photos, hit the gym, change your style, use different sites, different descriptions of yourself.
You only spent $30 and you got 3 numbers and some e-mails.
Try to match that economy in a bar.

Just have it as something you do every day for a few minutes as well as real life socialising.
It's just another possibility, and you're increasing your odds.
