Are you controlling your fear? Or is your fear in control of you? Which way are you going to live your life? This is your moment of decision. Right now, right here. Your life can be different if you make that decision to change.

There are many different thoughts on fear, different theories and different tactics of overcoming it. Some work, some do not. Some just make you feel good.

When I was learning about this topic and working on myself I read a lot of books and articles on how to conquer fear. It made me feel good, but I often didn’t do what I read.

Why?

One was I didn’t want it bad enough. My comfort of feeling good was more important then overcoming fear. I didn’t have enough of sufficient knowledge of what I feared. Also, when I encountered fear, I thought too much and eventually would talk myself out of whatever I really wanted to do. I didn’t take immediate action.

Then over last few years it became very apparent of simple procedure of what I was doing that helped me overcome any fears I had. Its simple, effective but its not easy. You have to be able to jump off the edge and into the fire. Taking that leap of faith is important. You can’t fight with one foot inside the ring and the other foot out.

Then time passed enough became enough. Living with fear was more painful then going through of what I feared. I was the only one who stood in my way. I knew I have to go for everything I want to achieve in my life. No one is going to do that for me.

Make a Decision:

Your future, your life and your present moment all depend on the action and first step you take RIGHT NOW. Understand what is happening and change it. Learn sufficient enough of information to understand what you fear and change it. Take action on it.

You must make that decision that enough is enough and you have to get that particular part ofyour life handled.

When you decide to change your current circumstances and elevate your life to a new level of quality, you will encounter fear. There is no way around it. You will come to face your worst fears. But what is going to be different this time then before? You will understand something very fundamental about fear, and it’s this; you will feel fear anytime you do something different, something new and something out of your comfort zone. This time you will feel the fear and still do what you want. There is no way around it. You will do what you want regardless of fear. That has got to be your mindset. One thing about your fears is that they are arbitrary and are irrelevant to your success.

I am going to share what has worked for me. Reason this has worked for me is because it is a simple strategy. It’s simple but not easy.

Two Things:

Two key elements of controlling fear and overcoming it are knowledge and action.

Learn about what you fear and then take massive immediate action. Small steps or big steps but you must act on it.

First Step: Knowledge & Skillset

First to overcoming fear is learning about it. You know what you fear, write them down and start learning about it. Read online forums, read blogs, articles and books. You will be reading and studying things you fear of. The more you know the less you fear. But do not get caught up in reading. Make sure you apply the skillset as soon as you learn something.

Are you afraid of talking to strangers? Talking to girls?
Learn conversational skills. Learn body language. Learn attraction.

Are you afraid of being poor? Being broke?
Learn how to take care of your money. Learn how to invest.

Start taking immediate action on things you learn. Learn and act. Get that experience.

Second Step: Take action

This is where most people stop. Action is the key. It is that simple. At this point you should have some sort of understanding and some skill where you can apply it and not feel like a fish out of water.

I learned the skill. I imaged a positive outcome and I took action. I took action and I was being aggressive. Not passive. Some of the steps I took were very small, others I took a jump and a leap of faith and put myself out there. You have got to do both. Sometimes to be in the water you need to jump from the edge of the cliff. If you do these two steps, fear will become irrelevant in your life.

You have to be able to stand in the line of fire and be ok with it. Do not resist fear, don’t resist rejection, failure, humiliation etc. Let all these experiences go through you. Feel them, don’t deny them. Its ok to experience them. Be patient. Keep moving forward. Keep learning and applying what you learn and learn from the experiences you have. Any day that you take action and move forward is a good day.

It is important to think of positive outcome. Visualize yourself succeeding. You must think of the future and the outcomes in successful ways. The more you give in to your fear the more you become slave to it. Be patient. Keep moving forward. Keep learning and applying. Any day that you take action and move forward is a good day.

  • Know your fear. Learn about it.
  • Take immediate action.

I am no longer fearful of anything in life. I feel the initial surge of chemicals in my body that is fear, but that is irrelevant to me. I love the adrenaline that goes through me when fear comes into my life. I know that I am in control. I know I will be able to walk out a better man on the other side of this experience. I still do what I want regardless of fear.

Hope you guys got some value out of this. Let me know.

Fear is a very powerful idea. An implication with fear is its association with stability. When one is in a fearful state of affairs, it is safe to assume one is in an instable condition, and vice-versa. Thus, since we seek stability, we must not seek to eliminate the emotion of fear, for that is important, but we must not allow fear to control what we do. This goes in along with what you were saying about immediate action. One must be able to rationally recognize a state of affairs and have the courage to do the right thing at the right time for the right reasons with the right intentions for the right result. To take on such a task can seem a bit daunting, but once this is done, all else falls in the right place.

Protip: Remember how awesome you are drunk? Emulate that when you're sober. Viola, fear is gone, inhibitions lowered, and energy is increased.

I think the reason people stop on Step 2: Taking Actions is because, obviously, this is the big moment for them. This is where they jump off the cliff and into the lake below. For me (and probably others), it's not so much the thought of jumping as much as the thought of not making it into the lake and instead landing on the ground.

It's always comfort versus growth.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

That is very interesting perspective.

thanks.

Yeah, its never as bad as we imagine it to be. In my experience anytime I did something I was afraid of, it was never as bad as I imagined it. I usually would say to myself "I was a afraid of that?" or "That wasn't that bad." I'm sure you guys relate to that.
