This infamous little piece of prose has been springing up all over female profiles on Facebook and dating sites lately. Credit to Marilyn, in articulating her own perceptions of herself she pretty accurately summarises what's wrong with a good percentage of modern western women, but it's clear she can't see the irony in her own words and is only dimly self-aware.

On the one hand, it's maddening when I see girls brandishing this quote on their profiles like a badge of honour; they know they're irresponsible and without account for their own actions but in their own heads they've rebranded their childish behaviour as something to be proud of. Hell, the quote would probably pass for a decent clinical definition of BPD.

On the plus side, when I see this quote I know it's the ultimate red-flag, it tells me everything I need to know about that girl and I can just steer well clear.

The kicker was when I saw an ex g/f (from the white knight days) use it on her Facebook recently, to see that garbage after she'd come such a long way as a person was not very cool, and I told her so. Naturally, she was extremely receptive to my constructive criticism.......bahahaha, I wasn't seriously expecting any other outcome, but sometimes, ya just gotta.

Feel free to dissect the current popularity of Miss Munroe's quote, I think it's extremely revealing. So, apart from out and out avoidance (probably the best strategy) how would you handle a girl who was waving this one around? I'll be honest, very occasionally I do get a kick out of confronting girls about their misguided attitude of entitlement but it sure isn't a fast track to getting laid.

So then, just for arguments sake, it's a purely academic exercise, without nexting, without confronting that BS head on, how would you work it to your best advantage.

This ain't rocket science, and I don't think it's constructive to ɥɔʇıq about ʎɥɔʇıq women. Just avoid them and you won't have problems.

Women ain't the SAT. Here are some guidelines:

1) If a woman acts like a gold digger, avoid her.
2) If a woman acts like a ɥɔʇıq, avoid her.
3) If a woman is fun and friendly and sexy, don't avoid her.

"Monroe", whoops, of course. When you hear it pronounced with a thick aussie accent all the time, i.e. "Munraow"....you get the picture!

In any case, it turns out Marilyn actually was manic depressive (BPD), re-reading the quote in that context makes it very clear; Marilyn is excusing herself of her BPD and the girls who use the quote are glamorising BPD behaviour, trying to Norma-lise it (how's that for a wicked pun, +1).

"Diva" is another term that gets my hackles up.

"Insecure, impatient, hard to control at times"...sums up most of the women I know. But most of them wouldn't admit it let alone put it up proudly on their facebook. Definitely a major red flag!!

Well that sure doused gasoline on my profile page! We are at 80 comments and counting, mostly of women outraged that someone tried to show them the simple laws of cause and effect. I got about 20 "Like"s on this, surprisingly more than half are women. Then again I shouldn't be shocked, I have a pretty grueling filtration process and wont add just anyone to my FB. In fact due to this post I have deleted 10 people. Don't need or want unaccountable lunatics in my life.

Razor Sharp! I almost missed your post, so you couldn't let it just slide by either, I'm glad to hear that. There's always been a debate in this community about ignoring bad behaviour and remaining unaffected by it, versus actively doing something about it. I think it's important to flex your integrity like that now and again, even if it means losing a few plates.
