SOUTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A grisly murder scene in South Miami has ended up on Facebook after the alleged killer posted a picture to the social networking site.

Derek Medina, 31, of South Miami posted a picture of his dead wife Thursday morning on a Facebook page attributed to him. Police found the woman’s body in the townhouse at 5555 SW 67 Avenue.

There was a 10-year-old girl at the home, authorities say, but she was not hurt.

CBS4 has confirmed the identity of Medina with South Miami Police Sgt. Rene Landa.
She was pretty hot too!

Shouldn't this guy go free? It's Florida. She came at him with a knife, he was standing his ground.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

She hit him and he Stood His Ground. A jury will acquit him.
They would if she was on top of him slamming his head into the ground. Then they would probably use a claim of self-defense (not stand your ground), just like a recent case.

When we read something like this we get a feeling that this type of stuff happens to people, not us, never us, and never people we know. But it's a false feeling. This could happens to any of us. Take posters in this thread, thus far, age 34, 32, 32, 28 and 45. That guy that killed her was 31. It probably started out with a fight, words at first, then fight. Reason for a fight was probably jealousy. Perhaps it was as stupid as who the f'ck you writing to on face book.

I'm saying anyone of us could end up on that guy's place. Yes, even if you think never you.

That pic isn't that bad. I've been on bestgore.com looking at Mexican cartel videos. There's a chainsaw beheading that's f'n brutal. The worst was a throat slashing execution where they took care to cut only the trachea so the guy slowly died choking on his own blood. Now those were gristly.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

She didnt charge with the knife. The police affidavit says they were arguing, then he brandished a gun, so she went downstairs and got a knife. The guy then told police things calmed down for a second, and that weapons were put down. Then he says things got heated again and that she was punching him so he shot her.

Apparently he was sick of being hit. Im sorry, but that sounds fishy as all hell. First off hes bigger than this woman and could have just restrained her or left the house. She didnt have the knife on her anymore, and was only punching him. Sure women arent childlike in strength, but Im not shooting a smaller woman over punching me, as I can easily knock her out or restrain her.

This dude is getting locked up for a while. Itll be hard for him to even claim self defense in court when it doesnt sound like he has any verifiable injuries...along with the fact that he was the first one to introduce a weapon into the situation. All the prosecutor has to say is that his wife was scared and thats why she grabbed a knife to defend herself. Or say she was scared and thats why she punched him, and this guys going down for a long time.

Nevermind him being an idiot and posting this crap on facebook. I hope the dude gets life.

If some of you would quit looking at this and comparing to the dumb Trayvon Martin crap, you could see that there's a bigger lesson to be learned here. That guy's a huge AFC and look what it got him.

I do see people bringing up the fact that the Trayvon issue helped bring to spotlight Floridas habit of having suspicious killings. Along with the fact that these cases are generally followed by a self defense and/or stand your ground claim.

Its been very bad publicity for Florida lately. But its been that way since Casey Anthony really. I wouldnt be surprised in he gets off though. Florida lets killers roam free while they lock up women who fire warning shots at abusive spouses. And lets not forget the Florida cops who taze a teenage skater kid and end up killing him. Doubt those guys see any jail time for that.

Florida is in the national news almost daily for some sketchy crap.

I wonder if you'd still spout your liberal nonsense if you ever found yourself a victim of violent crime.

Lmao....recognizing the faults of the Florida justice system is liberal nonsense huh? Being upset at Casey Anthony going free is liberal nonsense huh? Those angry at police using unnecessary force against a non-violent teenager who wings up dead are nonsense liberals huh? Trust me, I along with many others are more concerned with the police and justice system working against us than worrying about regular citizens committing crimes against us.

Just look at this in Georgia. http://www.break.com/video/wrong-address-cops-don-t-care-2503609 I guess its liberal nonsense for law abiding citizens to be concerned about crap like this. Many folks are more worried about police and court officials being criminals more than anyone else. I imagine if those guys werent rolling tape, they may have ended up in the hospital with the PD making up some bs story about them resisting arrests or reach for some imaginary weapon.

Troll elsewhere bro.

I'm a Florida resident, as well as a CCW holder. You can take that as me being biased, but I'm also well-versed on the issue. There is plenty of gun violence in Florida, but a very small percentage of it is committed by those with CCW permits. Look at the number of Florida residents that have a concealed carry permit, and then look at the amount of violent crimes committed by them. I don't remember the exact statistic, but I know it is ridiculously small.

I don't see how anyone could read the Florida stand your ground law and have an issue with it. It seems like common sense. If you are being attacked in a place that you are legally allowed to be, you have the right to stand your ground - you have the right to defend your life.

This case is why SYG is a bad law; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...tml?ncid=txtlnkushpmg00000038&ir=Black+Voices

Some punk has an illegal firearm and kills someone with it, yet hes able to invoke Stand Your Ground. Thats BS. And he killed a community leader too. And we are supposed to believe 3 teens were in imminent life threatening danger because of a middle aged guy with a stick? Riiiiiight. SYG has made Florida the wild wild west. When criminals can start invoking that defense, you know its a bad law. So while the law has good intentions, its fundamentally flawed.

Heres a scenario if I lived in an SYG state like Florida;

right now, I could go after someone I disliked, shoot and kill them, and claim SYG and likely get away with murder. Thats the reality of these laws. All I have to do is make up a story, or better yet, provoke someone to attack me, and I can get away with killing someone. No one pays for the death of another.

Thats a problem.

Criminals also have a right to defend themseves in certain situations. If you aren't breaking the law when you are attacked, then you legally can defend yourself. I'm sure they were charged for having illegal weapons afterwards.

And no you can't just go kill someone and claim self-defense. You're being ridiculous. You would have to prove that you feared for your life or great bodily harm. That isn't easy, by the way. Typically, you're immediately assumed to be a murderer by the cops. If it isn't completely obvious that you weren't, that is. After the recent case, everyone thinks it's so to easy shoot 'em up - it isn't. Do some research. The DA is still out to get everybody...
