Dude, what really matters is how you come off. Not your skin color. If you're really worried about the tone of your skin, just cut up and bulk up like noone's business and it won't even be an issue.
Sure, go ahead and bronze up a bit...that is, as long as it makes you feel better. But make sure you are doing it for you. The whole premise of confidence is that you do things FOR YOU. Not because you care what other people think. Make sure you are coming from a place where this is something for YOU, not for THEM.
Personally, I wouldn't do it, because of skin cancer risk.
