This is an interesting study. Apparently, currently today's man have crappy grip strength than previous generations of men. In fact, some of their grip strength equates that to that of a 30-year old mom.
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/439040/male-physical-decline-masculinity-threatened

A generation of weak male Millennials apparently. Do you find this article about mens' weakened grip strength accurate? Some are claiming it's genetics evolving and the "Y" chromosome shortening.

Some blame father's not being prominent members of the household anymore and these men just sleep around and spread their seed, popping out b**tard sons.

But the article goes on more to talk about physical masculinity as a whole, that a new generation of men on average are getting more and more physically weak when it comes to strength and the ladies are getting as equal as these weaker men or stronger.

Some have made comments that "lifting" doesn't equate THIS kind of strength. For instance, police academies had to taper their physical requirements for being a cop.

people losing strenght becasue they don't use muscles as much as before is nothing new, but yeah most guys nowadays are incapable of even fixing so easy to do eletric or plumbing problem(things I did during my teenage days, at home was not my dad it was me u.u).
lifiting do solve some of that problem, also if he is smart lifting will not be the only thing he will do, take note too it can be a lie the study could be flawed, and all that nice things we have to deal with

The land of improvement
Even when hitting the gym , most men nowadays do it only for cosmetical reasons rather than practical use . Just look how they treat crossfit which it actually has a lot of physical benefits for many every day tasks. I have many friends which spent lots of hours into the gym only to look better but not being able to finish a physical task outside the gym .

Not to mention the increased rate of gaming promotions through studies which "prove "that computer games increase your reactions and other things . It's a global issue and it gets worse all the time.

If you go out now and tell somebody to run a km or lift some heavy things, im pretty sure they will be out of breath in the first minute .

I already notice this around me , women are taking charge and men will be useless in around 50-100 years.

And this study about the Y chromosome is already known for at least 15 years .

I TOTALLY FVCKING AGREE!!!

My gym went through some light remodeling and moved some equipment around to make room for this weird TRX type thing. It's got monkey bars on it, and man do I love them. I see other people try the monkey bars, even teens and they just SUCK. Like to me that **** came naturally to me, I was able to jump up and swing from bar to bar skipping like 4 or even 5 bars at a time, sometimes just swinging so that I'm flying midair for a split second. And these other people are garbage at it. I mean what's the point of being able to deadlift 465 for reps if you have trouble hanging on monkey bars or doing pull-ups, ya know? I tried uploading 2 pics of what I mean but SS says the file is too large for the server to handle. I agree with NSX-R about how most men go to the gym to look good rather than to be great.

Anyhow, I also gotta say that not only are men getting weaker, they are also getting stronger as well. Bigger, better, faster, and stronger. The gap is widening. Olympic/world records in physical events are continuously getting broken, humans have gotten taller in years past compared to previous generations, and we have gotten better in sports overall. In the same way that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, the strong men are getting stronger and the weak men are getting weaker. One of the biggest factors that motivates me is to see how many fvcking pvssies there are. And I do NOT want to be like them. I just think in my head when I see these guys, 'dude, take pride in yourself'. And I think a lot of other guys are the same way. So now the amount of people who are in between is decreasing. It's either they are weak or they are strong. There is no middle ground anymore. Be strong, gentlemen. Your strength is what stays with you till the day you die.

I bought a tool that measured grip strength (circa 2012) and I believe I scored 130 which was around the 99 percentile.

I can crush a person's hand enough to make them scream with my handshake.

That said, when you shake a woman's hand, don't overdo it. Hold it firmly as if you want to be able to catch them if she slips over the edge of a building, but don't squeeze too hard. Meanwhile don't give them a limp, weak handshake.

I see that in my gym too and its unbelievable that guys in their 40s are stronger and more aggressive toward the training than many guys in their 20s.

What exactly have these women been gripping? :D
That's funny, but it's a legitimate question.
I can understand men as a whole losing their grip strength. But why would women have a stronger grip? Considering especially that they tend to have smaller hands (and thus smaller hand muscles).

Doesn't really make sense, unless women are hitting the gym like gangbusters compared to men? Women attend higher education at a better rate than men, so maybe they work out more too? Haven't seen any studies on the subject.
