If you 100% LIE and they do a background check.....they could discover that you lied, which of course would void your application/consideration.
I wouldn't 100% LIE, but you can surely PUMP up your accomplishments/tasks for the experience that you do have. For example, if you are interviewing for Inside Sales positions and the only experience you have is a 6 month $9 per hour telemarketing job......PUMP that shyt up to the following:
- In terms of sales performance, I achieved the following:
* Consistently cold called over 200 prospects per day
* Average closing ratio of 50%
* Average new deal signing margin of over 45%
* Increased revenues year over year by over 200% through new signings
* Expanded company's brand awareness in the local market
- On the side of managing sales activities, I also was responsible for:
* Assisting Accounting with end of day reporting activities
* Assisting IT with configuration reports
* Marketing and networking events
* Managing the company's social media and blog accounts
* Providing weekly status reports to higher management
