t's said that only shallow men believe in luck and that strong men believe in cause and effect.
Hmm... I know that a lot of luck is a product of doing many little things right. Luck supports those that play the percentages, and don't give up..
But...
There are some people who are truly unlucky. Trust me I know, firsthand. I don't let it bother me and it seems to only be in some aspects of my life, so I tend to stay away from those aspects.
Last time I played a game of dice, where the highest score wins, here's what happened: (i rolled 3 die, he rolled 2. If there's a tie, he wins because he only rolls 2)
I bet $20 on this set.
He rolled first, and they came out as a 1 + 2 = 3.
I rolled second, with a big ****ing smile on my face, because all I had to do was roll a two or higher. I rolled a 1 + 1 + 1 = 3.
Calculate the odds of that
By the way, **** like that happens ALL the time when pure chance is involved. I know that people who focus on the negative usually ignore the positive, but ive played that game roughly 25 to 30 times, I won 4 rolls total.
I'm making it a habit of walking the other way in things where chance is involved, it doesn't seem to help me, so I ignore it and move on with my life.

edit: on the other side of the coin, my buddy who also plays that game sometimes, rolls 5s and 6s CONSISTENTLY. Our whole circle, nine of us, all won't play against him b/c dice just seem to roll his way. I don't quite understand it, but it's fvcking uncanny.
