I am trying to get a low self esteem girl. what do I have to do differently to get her and to keep her once I get her? I did a search on low self esteem chicks and it seems like they are trouble is this true and if so why?

In my experience, low self-esteem girls, commonly look for guys to use as an emotional tampon. On dates, they will complain about how crappy their lives are, etc.
Try to keep the dates light and fun as possible, to hopefully bring up their self-esteem and interest in you. Hopefully the low self-esteem is a temporary thing. On the other hand, if its a permanent feature of their character, dating them could be a waste of time, because low SE girls, tend to date guys for the sake of being with a guy. In other words, they will date guys they are not interested in, wasting your time and money, simply because they don't want to be alone.
Another bad aspect of low SE girls, is often times, they end up hooking up with the worst kinds of bastards. So even if you come accross to her as a suave smooth DJ, she may think she is out of your league, not good enough for you, and ditch you for some loser.
Yet another bad aspect of low SE girls, like JSH said, is once you land them, they become SUPER clingy, and always want to be around you, and talking to you on the phone.
But, on a positive note, maybe her low SE is not that low, or is temporary, so once you hook up with her, she becomes more balanced.

im not so sure about low self esteem girls that are insecure.
i met this girl last semester and broke the ice , begain talking to her. thought she was a pretty nice and cool girl to know.
this semester i have class w/her again. and lately i noticed she's not as nice as i thought she was. she's asked me how work is going and telling me to hook her up with a job. telling me how she isnt trying hard enough etc.
she doesnt even talk to me much anymore and i realized she's more of a *****. she is a ***** basically.
just be aware, that these girls are very unpredictable and you should stay away from these girls.
they can get hot N cold on you like nothing. and they will place their needs #1 over others.

Low-esteem girls are a downer. I dated one, she was easy to f*ck, but her attitude pissed me off. Even after sex she'd say stupid sh*t like "Oh did I do it right? I must be such a terrible girl in bed" bla bla bla. Geez, if theres ever a turnoff, its being a downer.

The question you should ask yourself is "Why does she hold her self in such a low esteem" This is very important! Once you know why, then you may decide that you don't want her. Talk to her casuallly and find out in an indirect way.
If she was raped or abused in the past - then this is obviously not good for you to deal with such emotional scars!!
