I stumbled across a counter-intuitive strategy that seems to work pretty well for me that I thought I would share with anyone who is interested.
Look for the bad in people.
All your AFC life you get told to look for the good in everyone. But when you are living like a doormat and always trying to please people, you automatically have a hard time seeing anything other than the good. Particularly in women. Thus an average looking girl with a crappy personality becomes a "goddess." In order to be able to look at her objectively to see what she's really worth, you have to be able to identify the bad stuff as well.
So when you see a beautiful woman, instead of allowing your balls to involuntarily turn into mush, start picking her apart to see what's wrong with her (lord knows they do this to us!). Stop being hypotized by tits and ass and start looking for flaws. I guarantee you even the hottest women have them.
I found myself becoming entranced the other day by the beauty of Katy Perry in a bikini until I noticed a colony of moles on her back and shoulders. Suddenly, she became human again.
This isn't intended to tear down women or make you view them as less desirable. It is merely to help you maintain a sense of perspective. That they are not some divine, flawless creatures. They are people like us. It's easy to forget that sometimes.
Being conscious of women's flaws will not only make it easier to talk to them but will also raise your standards in them considerably.
