Well, I don't know about Toronto, but I can tell ya how it goes in Chicago.

Pros: Tons of music venues, amazing bars, restaurants, great women, jobs, public transit so you don't have to drive everywhere (could also be a con)

Cons: Extremely, like crazy, expensive compared to suburbs, parking is an enormous pain in the butt and expensive, if you go to the wrong part of town there is crime.

Those are the big ones off the top of my head, although you'd be surprised how frustrating parking is. If you come home at the wrong part of the night you may be circling for an hour before you find anything. You can rent a spot in a garage for $300/month.

Thanks.

I heard toronto is a really safe city though.

Is a car even necessary then if the public transit is good?

I live in Toronto and I like it. I couldn't imagine living in a small city where theres barely anything to do.
If you live downtown or close to it you dont need a car in Toronto. You can get anywhere by streetcar or subway in less than 45 minutes. Toronto is also a safe city even in the bad areas its nothing compared to the US. I think the cons about Toronto is its expensive to live downtown and the weather sucks.

God I love big cities. I used to think I wouldn't like them, but recently I spent some time in a big city and every night can be a crazy ass adventure unlike anything you can do in a small city and every night you meet some of the most insane and interesting people around.
