Jophil, I completely disagree with everything you are trying to insinuate with this post.

But your opinion is heard, and I've heard it many times before as well.

I too, bid you farewell.
OK, but don't forget to pack the beef jerky...

Perhaps because men are programmed to fight and hunt.

The desired result of either of these activities is VICTORY. The state of having prevailed over an adversary.
However , a struggle is a necessary precedent to a victory.
Without one we can neither claim victory, nor feel that we have achieved mastery , prevailed, or subdued our quarry.

It ain't no fun if it ain't no fight .
In the name of equality, we have subdued this natural, vital component of men.

Because everybody got a trophy, why should I ever have to struggle for anything?

We must take it upon ourselves to annihilate this dismal tide of unmanly philosophies propogated in Western culture. Write a book, tag a billboard, stand on a bucket if you must, let's get it done.

I'm going to walk around during the day with a lantern and tell everyone that I'm looking for an honest man.

The man who despises himself tries to gain self-esteem from sexual adventures—which can’t be done, because sex is not the cause, but an effect and an expression of a man’s sense of his own value . . .

The men who think that wealth comes from material resources and has no intellectual root or meaning, are the men who think—for the same reason—that sex is a physical capacity which functions independently of one’s mind, choice or code of values. They think that your body creates a desire and makes a choice for you just about in some such way as if iron ore transformed itself into railroad rails of its own volition. Love is blind, they say; sex is impervious to reason and mocks the power of all philosophers. But, in fact, a man’s sexual choice is the result and the sum of his fundamental convictions. Tell me what a man finds sexually attractive and I will tell you his entire philosophy of life. Show me the woman he sleeps with and I will tell you his valuation of himself. No matter what corruption he’s taught about the virtue of selflessness, sex is the most profoundly selfish of all acts, an act which he cannot perform for any motive but his own enjoyment—just try to think of performing it in a spirit of selfless charity!—an act which is not possible in self-abasement, only in self-exaltation, only in the confidence of being desired and being worthy of desire. It is an act that forces him to stand naked in spirit, as well as in body, and to accept his real ego as his standard of value. He will always be attracted to the woman who reflects his deepest vision of himself, the woman whose surrender permits him to experience—or to fake—a sense of self-esteem . . . . Love is our response to our highest values—and can be nothing else.

..And I'm sure you realize, this is the second time in this thread you've insulted me.

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.

Perhaps we need to break it down.

You don't see how because the women you've experienced don't, in the long run, fit. Nothing wrong with that.

Then you are weeding out women who aren't right for you; this is a good thing.

Don't try to impress others. Just follow your ambitions. Women will always be impressed with that, on whatever scale you do it.

So unplug from all of that. There is room in the world for people who don't partake in all of that junk, contrary to perception.

You are walking down too many main streets. Take some less-beaten paths. It looks like you're already willing to travel around, which is good. Also: Take a break from women from time to time.

You are qualifying and weeding out - again, a good thing. You shouldn't blame yourself for this. If you think you are being flakey, then be more up front and tell the chick you had a good time but don't see this working out. Would that more people did this.

Counterproductive is forcing something that's not right for you or for her, supplicating, or reframing yourself for her. If women are becoming adversaries, that is a problem. A good woman doesn't encroach on your life because she wants to sabotage your dreams. However, you do have to be a little firm, like telling a child it's bedtime, when you need time for you - and you need to do this early. If you simply don't have the time for something serious, that's your prerogative, and again, a good thing if you accept it.

Well, you came to the right place!
Good post Samspade, and thank you. I very much appreciate the advise in this thread, and you are right, this is the right place.

It's great to know, that you can get true, unbiased advise, anonymously over the internet. Perhaps, that's the internets 'saving grace'.

I am very grateful for the time spent, for those sending their message my way.

Julius, there's your world, and there's the world that is. You can live your life, free, if you choose. You do not have to sacrifice anything, to accomodate the philosophies of Western culture.

I made that choice, and have since just enjoyed life.
