Well ur right about that, laughing it off and ingoring it doesnt do a single thing. The guy i work with just keeps doing it when i ignore it or laugh it off. The reason i started lauighin it off was cuz the first couple times whenever i tried to throw it back at him, he would start laughing hysterically and turn to someone else and say "he gets so defensive" and then 2 or 3 people would think its so funny. Meanwhile it wasnt like i was going nuts, i just stood up for myself a lil bit and tried to throw it back to him. I tried to be witty and not lose my cool, yet its like he wasnt gonna igve me a chance to be one of the guys that could joke around with each other. I did not understand it, what to him would be the right reaction for me? Anger makes him laugh hysterically, trying to joke back at him makes him laugh hysterically, laughign it off and ignroing it makes him just keep doin it. Hes 6'4'' and prob was never made fun of for anything in his life, its like he seriously just thinks this is a normal way to act and i should just accept it. No matter what i do nobody was on my side in this group and i dont know why. im short and i look really young, its really like its beyond my control soemtimes, i have no clue what im supposed to do. if i fight this guy i lose my job and if i try to stand up for myself he laughs hysterically and gets everyone else too. Hes about the biggest piece of sh*t i ever met in my life.
That's rough, I'm sorry to hear that.

Does he ever insult you privately? You can pull him aside and say "I know you think it's funny, but I don't. You pull that sh!t again and we're gonna have a problem." Threaten to go to HR, or whatever boss you have to.

When someone tried to look at their buddies and laugh it off, the only thing I could do was say something REALLY offensive, and explicitly mention the fact that they aren't looking at you. Be like "The fuk you looking at them for? Me and you are talking you coksucker, get that faggot smirk off your face"

This MUST get their attention. You run the risk of being attacked, but that might be the best thing to happen, in the sense that you can get them fired. He insulted you, ESPECIALLY after you explicitly asked him not to, and you retaliated with words. He's the one who made it a serious problem.

Also, I find that making a BIG stink out of it makes the situation awkward. If people start laughing, insult them too. Like "You find that funny eh? Ya I bet you guys meet out back in the parking lot during lunch, maybe that's why your breath smells like d!ck all the time. Maybe I should call your wife, I bet she could use a real man"

Basically, you HAVE to make the situation uncomfortable for everyone, you have to make them feel bad emotions - anger, guilt, fear, etc. - to make sure they never want to do it again. If they associate picking on you with laughter and fun, it will never stop. If they tried to ignore you or laugh it off, DON'T LET THEM. Say whatever you have to say, get right up in their face, make sure you get their attention, and get them to touch you first.

Consider going to your boss, and telling him that you were harassed, BUT say that you asked him privately to stop, and he said he would, and that you don't want to file a complaint yet. That way you don't come across as a snitch and you handled the issue privately, but that also you've done your fair duty, if he does it again, he's crossed the line. When you tell someone to stop and they don't, you are fully allowed to take it to bosses.

Let me know how it works out for you. My name's Dan.

I see nothing special in being tall. ALL of my friends are short, the guys who get absolutley the most attention of my group are the shortest of them all. One of them is like an alpha male, preety much all the girls like him. He just gets messages from girls saying stuff like: "I'm gonna be honest with you, you attract me", and some girls that really like him are very cute and taller then him.

Another guy from my group is SUPEr fat, the fattest guy i've ever seen, and kinda short too, just that he's hilarious (Always making fun of himself, gets teased A LOT) but even he gets lots of attention from all the girls.

I'm really tall but most of the times the girls don't even look at me twice... Thinking again, they NEVER look at me like in a sexual way... I just don't fit in for some reason... Like, I don't socialize with people that much, I'm very very quiet unless I'm talking to a person alone... Then it's different... But point is, well maybe now i get some more attention, but there was a time I was really skinny and people just teased me like hell and every ******* got more attention then I was and was much more "alpha" then me, and I've always been the tallest.

Another thing I was always kind of stiff and insecure (weird body languege) and I actually would prefer a lot to be short sometimes, short people just seem totally natural to me. Like being short must be a peice of cake, it must be no problem at all, you can look at people in the eye... There's something about short girls that doesn't click for me, it would be kind of wierd I guess... Doesn't feel right to be next to a much taller girl sometimes. And short people should feel more comfortable in their own skin then taller people (At least I would). And ALL the guys who are much shorter then me get 100X more attention, plus I'm also good looking (altough skinny!) and have a good personality. You just got to be alpha!

there's also a study saying that women don't have a biological preference on tall men... read that.

I wouldn't mind being short, I think I would really enjoy it to be honest... Maybe if I fixed my posture a little bit... Also people always seem to want you to be alpha because you're tall, if some little guy is insulting you and you don't know how to respond you're a total joke, like it would be really really bad. Much worse if he was your own height.

Being tall is not speical at all to me, its like meh, i don't get it why you make this so special, it's totally irrelevant. I wish I would be like "Damn it I'm cool I'm tall" but the truth is, it doesn't matter...

Maybe it matters for tall girls only... But if I wre a short guy i'd really like to dominate a tall girl, oh yeah, it would be even cooler or not? But I guess a tall girl would like to date a taller guy, but that is, it still doesn't matter **** if you got game, i mean it, it matters litterally NOTHING, NOTHING.
Being short isn't a problem, says the guy who isn't short.

PTSD is just an excuse for cowardice, says the guy who's never experienced war.

My names Tim. Well my job isnt an office job its a very different setting from the kind u may be thinking of, i really dont wanna say what it is on here but lets just say its a blue collar job thats not exactly blue collar but its not an office. I really dont have much supervision its kinda cool in that way. The only time id ever speak to someoen in charge is if i diod soemthign wrong and was in trouble. I also wouldnt complain to a boss cuz it would be kinda pathetic dont ya think? Im a grown man and im gonna go to my boss and say someones pcikign on me. I mean dont get me wrong this wasnt a major deal im just referring to a guy who belittles me with little running jokes over and over. Its a big deal to me but to everyone else they think its harmless im sure.
These episodes actually took place during soem training a bunch of us had to do in which a group of us all kinda bonded from all the itme spent together over a few month period, but then this guy out of nowhere this guy just started makign jokes at my expense. It was like a light switch went on in his head or something. For the first couple months we were all cool, then he started doin this and that was the end of it, everyone thought it was so funny, i think in part cuz they fear him and dont want it to be them. He's def the most alpha of the group. Some of the stuff he was saying was funny at times and i could see why theyd laugh but then he got so repeptive with running jokes that could not possibly have made any sane human being laugh that hard after the 100th time. They were def kissing his a** alot. At least some of them were, one or two of the others kinda just have no class in my opinion. Your right tho i shoulda made a stink about it and made everyone uncomfortable. Only reason i didnt was out of embarassment i just was hoping it was a little razzing and coudl laughit off so i wouldknt seem like a grwon man who gets picked on, but by ignroign it its ten times worse. I am not very skillful with words and i just didnt think i would handle it cleverly enough to come out looking good. I think the end result would be me going overboard and yea id never get cracked on again by anyone, but id also be alienated and they would talk behind my back and rehash the story to other coworkers once the training was over and my rep would be ruined. The only other option would be to provoke a physical fight and then id lose my job.

What i really wonder is if this guy planned this out. It almost seems that way to me now. I was watchignt he sopranos once and tony, after coming out of the hospital or something thought people thoguth he was weak now so he was looking around the room to see who he could beat the crap out of in front of the guys to instill fear in everyone and then beats the crap outta this one guy. This may be wat this guy did with me, he figured out who he can mess with the most to increase his status.

This guy who messes with me is really smart and u just know hes going places in the job. People actually joke about that with him how hes the future president of it. He gives very little info about his personal life and carefully crafts his words, he makes sure hes always prepared in every way for everything, always dressed well, hair gelled perfectly, works out alot, and tries to maneuver his way into every department tryign to learn as much as he could and bvecome friendly with variosu people all over. I always felt since i met him a few yrs ago that everythign he does is methodically planned, and i mean everything even social interactions. I never liked him cuz of this. I would not be surprised in the least if he planned this with me. Cuz it totally came out of nowhere he was totally cool and friendly with me and wed joke around even up uintil this one day and it was never the same after that he was relentless.

That sucks bro, I don't know what to say. Is there really NOONE you can go to? like HR? It sounds like you have to file a complaint at this point, if the guy can't be reasoned with.

But at the same time, you complaint will stop him from being promoted, and keep him around you longer... Very tough situation. Still, you can't wait for him to be promoted, I would consider filing a complaint to SOMEONE. Make sure you detail everything, write it down as soon as it happens, with times and dates. Be very specific. But first make it clear to him, in private and with witnesses, that you want it to stop. Then you have a GREAT case against him.

Otherwise, you might have to look for another job, preferably one in a stricter environment where this behaviour is highly regulated.

well its nothing the guy would get in trouble for, its just him ribbing me alot. I would never go to my boss with that, i would get laughed at.

I'm 5''6 and my closest friends are all over 6feet.

I'm the alpha male of the group.

Would I feel like more of a man if I was 6''3? No. I don't give importance to height. I don't think about it, not that I try to avoid thinking about it..I just sincerely don't give a **** about something I couldn't change if I wanted to.

Keep your head up.
Peace.
