lol. You talk you actually know what your on about. Alpha male gene??

Ever since humans developed self awareness they were able to act how they wanted ...ie, "alphaness" obviously can be developed/improved.

Just keep your dumb theories to yourself, Darwin.
It's not a gene I never said gene it's a well established scientific fact that if your brain lacks nerves and general activity in the frontal lobe they are more violent and less moral. They also lack fear and they can be very smart to, it's.

I never said 'the alpha gene', sure humans can act how they want but acting is just acting when it comes down to it if you have morals and have fear you can’t be an Alpha.

What I am saying with this thread is stop all this trying to become an Alpha bullsh*t and concentrate on what’s important.

They do not pick fight with lions but I am saying in a group of primitive men the most animalistic was the Alpha, though there is no concrete evidence that the most animalistic of them was the Alpha and every one followed him it would make sense. Most Alphas display both intelligence and brawn right up to recent times but now intelligence is begging to become more important.

You say animals use brawn and I say the most animalistic humans are the Alphas so am I missing something?

What about the Lion thing?
Man am I bored right now.

It's not necessarily the case the most "anamalistic" of the group was the alpha male. When hunters and gathers romed the plant it was usually the guy who could keep the rest of pack (not really sure what you called a group of homo erectus in early times) alive and safe and kept himself alive. There could potentially be a new Alpha male every week. You also have to concider the regions in which these people lived. It could be the person who knows where mammoth heards are headed or how to skin a sabertoothed cat the best. There is no generalized statment that can be applied to the Alphas of early man.

Alphas of today are similar in the nature of prehistorc man still. There are different types of circles of guys who run together and accordingly there are different alphas for these groups ie jocks, preps, nerds, skaters, bikers, surfers etc etc will each have different charateristics in their respective groups and acorrdingly have different qualifications for their respective alpha males. It's not just brains or brawn, its how well that particular person interacts with people who associate with their particular group and how well they can lead said group acting as the defacto leader.

Why is violence equated with being an "alpha male"? Does this mean an Islamic suicide bomber is a true alpha male, since he is violent, and has no morals?

The true alpha male in all its glory, needs no tricks tips and tactics to get women.

Simply the reason why, the women is never the centre of his world!

The true alpha does not worship women, he worships far greater things, the main one being himself, no women will ever compromise the alpha in my opinion!

A none alpha will live his live at the beck and call of female pandering and acceptance.

Examples of this:
A. Studying seduction and playing a role to fit into another female ideal in the hopes of getting a women like it is the best thing that could happen to you.
The flip side on the alpha he studies seduction to improve his chances of sexing a women, with the potential of seeing if she is worthy of his precious time and space, if not she is relegated to FB and she should be dam happy with that tbh.
B. A true alpha takes no SH** from anyone, but he does protect the weak and infirm, he enjoys life and sees it as a journey of experience rather then a struggle. He will impart his wisdom to others in the hope they will understand the true path is never about anything but your own self focus.
C. A true alpha makes no excuses for who he is what he does or where he is going, this is anything and I mean anything, you follow your life not someone elses perceptions or ideals on how your life should be.
D. A true alpha strives to better himself in as many areas as he possibly can, he sees less able men and women as negative needy ppl and has no time for them he simply is focused on his world and he is more then happy to share it with ppl with the same ideals or ppl wanting to learn.
E. A true alpha is not dictated by society he makes his own rules and lives by them, society frames are not perfect models of happiness but the alpha will seek ways to make society work for him and not how he works or slots into society.
F. A True alpha does not pander or cater to women, he cares not what they think unless it is beneficial and never lowers his standard or compromises his beliefs.
G. A true alpha makes society work for him, see E this means gaining power knowledge and making things fit into his mould of perception.
H. A true alpha reacts and listens to advice from other MEN not women, women cant make a man only a man can.
I. A true alpha does not give a shi* about being an alpha or a DJ or any other label he simply does not give a shi* he is who he is and makes no excuses, to me, you, brother, sisters, mum, dad and especially not women.
J. An alpha in this society knows knowledge = power, power = success = success = anything you perceive it to be.

Depends. Who is better armed?

PS. A terrorist is willing to fight to the death, to prove a point. Does this mean terrorists are the ultimate alpha males?

the problem

The problem is that we take the definition of "Alpha" from the animal kingdom and apply it to human civilization. A lion can be alpha a human being who follows his animal instincts ends up in jail.

Another problem, the word alpha means too many things, this one word can mean so much when it cant be clearly applied to human beings without creating contradictions and conflict. The animal kingdom supports alpha male behavior, basically to rip each other apart, so it florusihes. Human beings have a higher order of justice and reasoning and therefore by developing such things have in itself identified alpha behavior as inferior to human intelligent behavior.

Forget alpha and what other word people use to describe, work on yourself on being confident and loving yourself and accepting who you are. I need to practice what I preach though.

I know some people are saying what aout all the human beings that have charcterisitcs that mirror the same behavior that a lion who is an alpha of his group displays but using diffrent mediums. A lion will roar and a human will curse and get in your face if you challenge his territorry. That is instinctual, your desire to defend yours is a instinctual feeling which surpasses logic and reasoning when a threat or time of danger or risk is involved. So some of it depends on your gene's and the wiring of your brain and on the other half it also matters on your childhood, since its been proven by psychologist's that your brain develops fully by the age of 12 and that we have been set in our ways for the most part with some wiggle room.

If you take a self defense class then you are catering to your animal side, and naturally you will feel confident and more apt to defending your territory or pride. If you want to take a word designed for the animal kingdom then yes this is alpha male, since your stronger now.

You cannot live in a society and try to fight it at the same time. It either comes naturally or is developed over time.

My point being that there is no such thing as a Alpha male and non- alpha male in the human species, we are all at diffrent levels of "territorialness aka alphaness" humans have a wide range.

So instead of thinking about how you can become and act alpha when you dont posses qualities you dont have, work on your self esteem and your logic and reasoning, and work out at the gym and watch your body act diffrently to situations now that you have more muscles.

You cant have a large bark but a small bite.

Ok, I don't know if anyone is still reading all this, & i'm not sure how relevant this is now..

But i study Pyschology & Business at university, & one thing that's been taught is that there ARE certain innate character traits that you are simply born with & cannot change.

For example, we studied the workings of group dynamics & that when a group is formed, there are 12 different 'roles' that a person can undertake. This is subconsious & reflects your own personality, & is also influenced by the traits the other people in the group follow. Out of those 12 traits - only one of them is 'leader', or 'group co-ordinator' - the person who takes charge & the others follow naturally.

This doesn't just involve business meetings or group work, but ANY situation where multiple people are present.

For me, this & my own personal experience has led me to believe that being the 'Alpha male' is innate & can't be learned or forced.

I'm not saying you can't develop yourself & gain more respect from peers, but you do have innate character traits that simply are a part of you forever. Being a natural leader is one of them.

So, in conclusion. The topic creator is right. Don't beat yourself up all the time that you are not the leader of your social groups.. embrace who you are & continue to develop & improve yourself without the worry of social hierarchies.

Off topic slightly, what were those 12 roles?
