A better place, a better time.
I've recently bulked up to about 227, the largest I've ever been. In addition to increasing my squat and deadlift substantially, my legs have also gotten much wider around than they ever have been before. As a result, my legs are now rubbing together, and up against the insides of my pants, causing a horrible chafe whenever I walk too much in one day (greater than maybe say 4 or 5 miles).

Spandex compression-short style boxers used to remedy this, but now not even those are working for me. Any large dudes found a good way to deal with this problem in the past?

I am well aware that 'losing weight' is an option, but that's not what my fitness goals are right now. There is another goal I have to accomplish before I start cutting, so any other ideas would be appreciated.

You have two conflicting goals then: Stopping the chafing and mystery goal #2.

Try carrying some baby powder around.

I wear compression tights after hard workouts for recovery and the first thing you learn about them is that you can't wear them all the time. One hour at a time, tops. It's not a good solution to your problem IMO.

Unless someone here has any ideas, best thing to do might be to go on a rugby forum and pop the question. Some of those guys have massive legs, surely they have had the same problem at some point.

Gold Bond---your best friend.

Get on your bed, open your legs and sprinkle that stuff all over your thighs and groin. It sounds silly, but you'll get over it when dont chafe walking 1 mile.
