I've been hitting the gym the last 4 months or so. My right tricep has gotten much bigger, and feels hard to the touch.

But my left tricep feels smaller, and it's soft and feels mushy.

What the hell is going on?

Keep training, everything starts to even out after you've been training a year or so with correct form.

But why does my left tricep feel like mush when I touch it? It's very soft. But my right tricep is hard like a rock?

Am I overtraining my left tricep? It doesn't seem to be growing.

What is your weekly routine?

What are your numbers? Ie. what do you bench?

Well, my routine is pretty pathetic to be honest with you. I'm new to working out, and I go to the gym alone, so I've been avoiding the free weights. I've just been using the machines.

So one day I'll do triceps/chest...

I don't even know the name of the machines I use. For triceps I do the pull down cable machine, and then some dips.

Then I guess it's called the seated bench press? Where you sit down and push the weight. I'm up to 220 on that.

So I don't even know how much I can bench. I haven't messed with that yet. And I don't do cardio. How bad is that? I just lift weights.

But, I have been seeing good results. I'm a lot bigger than I was 3 months ago.

I need better diet and kick out the alcohol too.

I've injured myself once in three years of lifting and that was doing a pullup.

Don't avoid the free weights. They're simply not dangerous in comparison to a ton of other activities people. Soccer is a well known one that has far more injuries than free weights do.
