I recently turned 18 and am now interested in beginning to invest. The problem is that I really know very little about the stock market and how it works, and how I should go about getting started.

Any pointers? Resources?

Thanks

I was 18 when I first started investing in stocks. I believe it is a good thing to get involve in investing at a young age so you will have more time (before retirement) to build up your fortune. You are smart to look for advice first before getting involve. But you will learn that most of the advice offered out there are bad just like most advice on women and dating. In my opinion the MotleyFools.com is one of them.

You will discover that in order to become a successful investor, at first you will make a lot of mistakes, get beaten down (lose money) by the market and maybe even lose your confidence as a reslut, and then look for answers. Then maybe with hard work, dedicated learning and persistence you might become successful.

I have went through those phrases. Learn from my mistakes so you won't waste your time with dead end advice.
If you are serious about investing I suggest you take a look at this link:

Then read these two books:

Do not be too easy. If you are too easy to get, she will not want you. If you are too easy to keep, she will lose interest in you. If you are too easy to control, she will not respect you.
