Okay, me and a group of about 5 or 6 people were talking, but even though I was loud and stuff, no one really payed much attention to what I said because most of the time I wasn't leading the conversation. Most of the time I would just be looking back and forth between the person talking and the other people talking, occassionally trying to add to the conversation, but failing to really grab anybodies interest. Most of the time I was just sitting there listening to the conversation. But what I want to be able to is lead the conversation and grab the whole groups attention and make the whole group interested, so I want to know, how can I do this?

You want control of a conversation? Until you can capture a whole groups attention, pull one aside, talk to them. Keep them engaged, tell a story, ask about them, talk about you, it helps if you haven't seen the person in a while (or even better, never before).
Then, you try two, and three, and onwards. Eventually, you'll be able to walk into a group and take control.
Cashiers are great for practicing conversation with, especially if they aren't busy. I walked into McDonalds...and I walked up to the counter, and I had 4 or 5 girls looking at me, and I'm standing there not saying a word. Why, because they were anticipating that I was going to say something, and that slience....lol.
That's another thing, slience. It can work wonders. Telling a story, and you just stop talking, it makes them go....I want to hear more! That's a test to make sure they are paying attention.
And errm, that's really about it to control a conversation in a group, just practising keeping one person engaged, and then two, and keep on going up.

interesting way to look at it amante, never thought of it from that perspective.
as for OP, what are you talking about usually? it should be something that you are enthusiastic about, or else, if you don't even care much for it, why should others? talk with enthusiasm, as if you couldn't wait to get it off your chest so to say.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
