If you want to hear some good indie rock get some The Zutons, The New Pornographers. Although AF is ok, I'm pissed they released that video, especially rebellion(lies) since that's one of their worse songs. I'll give you some more band idea if you want, I got tons.

It's alright, songs like In the back seat, Neighborhood 3, and 4 are way better. Neighborhood 3 is definetely their best song.

Plus saying an arcade fire is worse then another one is like saying that gold is crap compared to platinum, they're all great.

Another band to check out: The Decembrists

The Unicorns are definetely one of the best Indie-rock bands out there.

Also Death From above 1979 is incredible.

Decemberists and DFA are good...Unicorns were good but they're broken up now....My personal favorite Arcade Fire was Neighborhoods #2

Also I'd recommend:
-Interpol
-The Walkmen
-And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead (except Worlds Apart)
-The Hold Steady
-Mogwai
-Bright Eyes
-The Wrens
-Aesop Rock
-Broken Social Scene

I can name more if anyone's interested

I'd agree with pretty much that entire list. I don't think I've heard a coupe of those but The Wrens are awesome, same with And You Will know us (excpet worlds apart)

Adding:
Wilco
M83
Fiery Furnaces
Deerhoof
Porcupine Tree
Polyphonic spree
Architecture In Helsinki
Surfjan stevens

I could go on for a while...

More good recs, M83 and Wilco especially. I had a chance to see Fiery Furnaces at college but I was a dumbass and forgot what night it was. Also had a chance to see Trail of Dead but I was so pissed about Worlds Apart being ****ty that I didn't go.

The Wrens are sooo good...I saw them live at college back in February. There were probably only about 100 people there, the guys in the band were actually selling CDs themselves at a table...I got to talk to them before and after the show and got them all to sign my copy of Secaucus. Probably the best show I've ever been to. They're re-releasing the Abbott 1135 EP later this summer with 6 new tracks so it'll be LP-length...Can't wait for that.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.

I have, it's ok, not my favorite, but still has a unique quality too it.

Interpol: Damn I wish I went to your school :( we don't get any good bands. I'd Kill to see the wrens, they're amazing.

Check out the Bravery's debut CD. Some pretty kickass tracks on it.

And yes, I know who the Zutons are. I think I kinda look like their guitarist :)

In what will probably be the only electronica entry, lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Way Out West. Tonight I downloaded their Ministry of Sound set that was done in April, which is available here. Okay, so it’s not a “song” per se but an amazing mix of music.

Classic rock is where it's at. I don't listen to anything after 1985, except AC/DC's TNT album.

And I also like Tenacious D, because they are classic rock-esque.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Dream Theater - These Walls, Panic Attack, Never Enough, and Sacrificed Sons. Octavarium is kicking my ASS!

Porcupine Tree's Trains, Arriving Somewhere But Not Here, Start of Something Beautiful, Heartattack in a Layby, and Strip The Soul have also been getting heavy play by me.

I've just been on such a Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree kick lately! Addiction I think...

Same here. But I've been listening to DT's Once in a Livetime fairly often recently. I like to give Porc Tree's In Abstentia a good listening to at least once a month.

Glad to see another progger online here!

I've also been fixed on Rush's Hold Your Fire lately.

Ondie sleeper of the last decade

Justin Clayton

A bit like earlier Radiohead, but more folky and down-to-earth. Did a great album called Limb in 1999. New album out soon. Great songs.

hey guys,

really into oasis atm with their new album 'dont believe the truth'. Given their last few albums were bloated and relatively directionless, but they seem to have regained some of their melodic sensibilities minus the swagger.

best track IMHO to listen out to: Love Like A Bomb (written by Liam Gallagher) and Let There Be Love (their most 'Wonderwall' moment in a long time)

also, the new coldplay album is not bad but requires listening several times for it to get into your head space.

stand out tracks: square one, white shadows, fix you, low

also, fav band is ash with their album meltdown, but that came out a year ago.
