Does anybody know if this show is scripted? I literally hate MTV, but my roomate watches this show and now i'm hooked. I can't believe how young these peoples parents are and the success and wealth they have. I can't even comprehend having a life like that!

As i watch this show and reflect back on my HS/Early College days, i realize my life was no where near as fun as the characters of this show. Both high school and college weren't the greatest of times for me; i had alot of things to deal with and having no money was one of them. I wish i would have been in a situation where my only option was to have fun and enjoy life.

I've also noticed that when you come from a family with money, there is only one way to go--up! It seems like people from low to middle class income brackets have the hardest time gaining wealth. Most of my friends who come from wealthy families, seem to have little trouble finding success in life.

Yea its not uncommon to be very very rich very young....There are several self made BILLONARES in their late 20s and early 30s.

anyways i think that people who grow up in well off families, grow up around a winner mind, and as a result that makes it much much easier for them to have that same winning mentality. and it might go the other way, but they still have their daddys money to fall back on...

People who grow up poor, have to go through all the usual negativity of poor people, and im not trying to sterotype bc sometimes poor people are quite optimistic but just doesnt work out for them, but in most cases they grow up around negative thougths....in some rare cases it might motivate the child to go and become what their parents never were and they grow truly rich.

anyways about that laguna show.... i hate it....maybe im saying this bc of jelousy seeing kids live it up in big ass houses, with nice things and did nothing to deserve it, except being born in a rich family....also the thing that kills me sometimes is how AFC some of those kids are and still pulling some fine ass *****es.

Isn't it crazy how those little jacka$$e$ break every rule in the book and still bang the primo girls? Only in America

BTW. i grew up in a middle class family and everyone was negative as fuc....perhaps this is where my negative attitude derived from

that show is fake as ****. one of the girls is on facebook and she calls her self like karen or something. also, on the website her and "kristen" are best friends in real life. There is a picture of them there and she refers to kristen as ashely.

The show is real and the individuals names are real! I just think it's scripted!

BTW...

A friend of mine goes to college with the annoying blonde chick named Lo from season 1. Also, the fat girl from season 1, her dad is a nationally known televangelist.

Well the fact that it is on MTV should be clue enough that it isn't the true life story of a bunch of kids. That show pisses me off in that way, they make it seem like almost a reality show, about the lives of these rich kids, when you know that all of it is scripted.

The thing that kills me, is they spend more money in 5 minutes then i make in a whole week.

I watched this show earlier this week after two weeks of no tv. I thought that it was interesting. The girls are definitely hot.

I think the children of wealthy ppl find success easier is because of all the advantages they have early in life: the best schools, exposure to more cultural things, parents money to fall back on, and their parents connections.

FYI--- the most purchased car by millionaires is a pickup. The majority of americans that become millionaires do so by hardwork and sweat. Im not saying that hardwork is the key, i believe that TALENT is the most imortant thing to success on any level.
