Maybe I'm in the minority here reading the scenario , but to me it's look like :
your application for engineering school failed , you are not going to be the successful and a solid provider for her as she expected you to be in the future ,and she moved on to find someone else who will be.
Her lack of trust excuse, is just an excuse to move on, nothing more.
I agree and that was the thought in my head as I just read the OP's initial post.

She thought that you would become an engineer and make very good money (benefits, vacations, her blowing money at the mall while she is a stay at home wife, etc).

Guess what? You didnt get accepted. It didnt matter if you told her that day or 3 weeks later. The result would have been the same as well as her actions.

Boo fvcking whooo. She handled this all wrong. You didnt do anything out of the way, she did.

So long story short, she was with you as the "potential engineer". She should have been with you for many other reasons but she made that choice.

Now I aint sayin shes a gold digger.....but she aint messing with no broke &*^(((^ lol.

Ditch her @ss. NC is the way to go. When she reaches out begging just remember how you felt when she threw her little hissy fit and broke things off.

The only talk you ever need to have with this chick is to tell her to go kick rocks or pound sand up her @ss.

Go find other chicks and have fun. Forget this one as she already showed her true colors and its not what you want long term.

I find it great to exploit disappointments and mishaps, and perhaps over-emphasize conflicts of opinions strongly in the beginning to see how the communication between both you and she plays out.
Sometimes it best to press in the beginning to incite the red flags. No regrets leaving this one.
I agree 100%. The only time I shyte test a woman is if I feel red flags on the horizon. I would rather watch her lose her shyte and implode early on then find out about her true character 6 months down the road.

If you give them the rope to hang themselves with and the do, oh well. Do it early on to keep them on their toes and they either pass the shyte test or they will fail and either save you time or demote themselves to plate only.

No harm in doing this and I actually encourage it.

This is bad-- let her go.

Why?

She isn't supportive.
She doesn't trust you because you're a player type, unavailable and walled up. LMAO

She has figured out that you two do not have a future (meaning you are not willing to be her exclusive plow horse) and is moving on, you're not telling her right away proves you do not see her in your future. It happens.... or.. like @BeExcellent indicated if you came off as not having a 'plan' since you didn't get accepted, you are looking weak... and won't make a good plow horse. Either way... time to get off the ride and let another dude have a turn.

Now if you want a LTR with her... then you are going to have to ask others for advice... I am the last one you will want to hear from, but if you want ANYTHING with a chick to last a long time, you are going to have to give a little, and not be such a hard @ss. If she is in her 20s or teens, this will not work... she will only see you as weak. If she is in her 30s or 40s being more open an accommodating will help you... How much I don't know because it's not my style.
