Kisses and Pet names

I'd like to know if you guys consider kisses too "girly" for men to use, and in what circumstances you use them.

Also, I'd like to know what pet names you guys use to address women. When I'm flirting or dating, I will often call a woman "babe". However, I don't feel so comfortable with "honey" or "sweety".

What pet names do you guys use?

I hate clogging this board with banal questions, but I consider this important, not just in terms of flirting, but also in showing confidence.

I only use pet names in a sarcastic, tongue in cheek way. So if a girl is challenging me, I smile sweetly and say something like "sorry, darling but I can see right through you". Or if she asks me something I say something like "Yes, dear".
Otherwise I don't tend to use pet names.

I never sign myself off with kisses in messages. I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

But then again I have only really casually dated people. If i was in a serious relationship perhaps i would behave differently

i say that sorta sh!t all the time. it's pretty much common vocab w/ me. since i flirt all the time, it's even more common.

i say, babe, hun, sweetheart (normally that one is sarcastic), sweetie, baby, w/e

i dont really mean anything by it, but sometimes girls think i do!

I never sign emails or notes with kisses. A real kiss is better than something on paper. If she wants to be cute and girly, that's fine by me.

As for pet names, I use "sweetie" with flirting. Pet names are great for LTRs since they convey comfort.

hmmm.......

If its with a girl that i'm just friendly with and have no feelings for i'l maybe call them "babe" or something that isnt "lovey Dovey"...

But with the girl that i am with atm (which i really like alot, and visa versa) I DO call her "sweetie" and "Angel" and "My little puppy" etc... and you can also use her name, but make it sound "cute" Eg: If her name is Megan then you could call her "megs" or "megi" or "megi-pooh" etc...

On to signing emails, sms's etc with a kiss ( "mwa" ) well with my girl that i am with now i DO end most of my sms's, emails, etc with a " mwa " and/or "I miss you" and or a " : ) " (smiley face) But i dont do it ALL the time, so when i DO do it, it has MEANING and doesnt become "2nd nature" or "expected".

In my opinion if you do not feel comfortable with speaking and acting this way to a girl that u have strong feelings for, then u are not passionate enough and still have alot to learn about opening up and being open and expressing your feelings/emotions etc.

One more thing... Try to give your girl a nickname that ONLY you call her by, they seem to LOVE that, and for the rest of her life, wheather is spends it with you or not, whenever she hears that name she will think of you and bring back memories.

I don't use pet names. When I hear people saying stuff like "buttercup, sugarlips, sweety, teddybear" or any other stupid gay **** like that, I dry heave. It makes me sick to my stomach. I had this idiot friend in high school who use to talk like that to his girlfriend and she did the same thing. It made me and everyone around us physically sick. Plus him and his girl weren't all that attractive, so watching them suck each other's face all day wasn't that great either.

Its not ALWAYS bad to use them I guess, if it makes the girl think she's special for some reason then I guess go ahead. But I just know the majority of the time when I hear it, it makes the guy sound like a serious chump not to mention annoying. You wanna punch him in the face after about 2 minutes.

lol... i know what u mean... some people DO tend to OVERUSE it and blow it out of proportion, but if done properly and in the right manner, it can be a very romantic and turning on thing

I try to change their nickname at least every two weeks and I like to keep it a little derragatory like:

• Ping-Pong
• Short-Bus
• Charlie Brown
• Skittles
• Sparky
• Happy Meal
• Crayola
• Scooby Doo
• Ring-Ding
• Big Red
• Squirrely

They always want to know what they did to make me call them something like that. I like doing it that way. It sends all the right messages.
