I texted her last night. I get the feeling it was a rejection, but it was in the nicest way.

One of her texts: "You've always been so kind and was my first friend/local in Darwin. I appreciate you, I am sorry for for the state I was in last week and potentially leading you on like I did".

ME: "It's OK sweetheart. You weren't leading me on, I was just being courageous! I'm sorry that I was being so forward!

HER: "Don't ever apologize for being to forward"

FFS that's not a rejection, that's an open door. Grab your nutsack and caveman the broad the next time you're drunk together.

I'd say "that's not the only thing that was forward..." but that would probably be incongruent in your case. Anyway, you get the idea.

Thanks for your perspective. As I mentioned previously, I asked her out for dinner... she said she is working 7 days next week, and is going to dinner with someone else... but I never got a flat out NO.

I'm actually proud of myself for giving it a shot. My whole adult like I've lived in fear of rejection, lately, I don't care any more. Probably helped that I've dated a bit the past three years, which has boosted my confidence with women. But do have a crack with this girl, is next level, as she could easily be a model.

And there you have it...she is telling you to grab your balls and be confident because you don't come across that way to her.

That more than anything may be the reason she can't see it with you.

I would have texted "and I'm sorry for forcing you to have to change your panties when you got home" with a smirk.

If you want something to happen then be playful, confident and keep making attempts.

Sometimes men give up too quickly. I'm not saying be a doormat, but perhaps she is seeing what type of man you are...the type who gives up as soon as any little obstacle is put in your way or a man who goes for what he wants and continues his pursuit regardless.

I don’t know, I disagree. He should have not double texted. Not only he relinquished the little leverage he had but he also forgo the “I am the price” mentality in this interaction.

To the OP:

You should be more confident in yourself, especially in the value you provide. Any woman should be lucky to spend time with you since you are fun, exciting, and you are a supplier of good emotions. However, if you are not there you should do everything in your power to get to this point.

Also, about that irrational fear, just how Redman said in one of my favourite movies called How High, he said “don’t be scared, it is only p00sy”

So, I saw her Sunday night at the same pub where we kissed. It was slightly awkward, we chatted briefly... and when I left, I gave her a kiss on the head. I think nothing will happen.

You should make a post and elaborate on this theory. I am curious.
I'm not sure I would call it a theory, rather an intuition or strong hunch.

It just stands out whenever I've seen the word used this way.

When I hear the word "even" in these types of contexts, it highlights a certain hyper vigilance (i.e., too much caring) of the poster in regards to what the woman was doing.

It also seems to coincide with a certain emotional distress, of someone whom is losing or lost a particular woman's fancy, and are struggling with accepting that reality and accepting a larger reality about female interest (i.e., that the past doesn't matter much at all, just her present actions).

Certain phrases and words reveal someone's mindset, emotional state, and so forth, and "even" seems to be one such word when used in this particular manner.

There are probably some deeper reasons for this intuition that I haven't given enough thought to in order to articulate more of what's going on under the surface.

On a related note, I'm not sure I used the word "even", but I could see myself having used it in the past when I was struggling and younger.

Example: "X woman was showing tonnes of interest, she was doing this and that and she even said this about wanting to do Y and Z together, but then she went did this and that ... [i.e., it started to go to sh*t but I wanted to recover it and didn't understand what was going on] ... etc. etc. ..."

So, after work last night, I went to one of my local bars, and a woman I know came up to me and basically told me the gossip. The girl I kissed told her. So at least I know she doesn't have regret, or embarrassment. When I saw the girl I kissed on Sunday night, as I left the pub, I gave her a kiss on the head. I found out last night, she was on a date, with a 50 year old guy. She is 28. I am 47. So I at least know now that the age difference isn't a problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should do? I texted her two days ago, saying I was interested in dinner with her, but no response. Should I just let it go? It's a hard one, as I don't want to come on as too thirsty, yet I'd also like to pursue it. So, I'm in a bit of a bind.

She gently and politely declined your first dinner offer (by saying she's busy and also sorry she lead you on by kissing you while inebriated). Then you found out she was on a dinner date with a 50yrs old man (which clearly shows she's not interested in you for whatever reason, not the age gap as you feared). Yet you insist in inviting her to dinner.

I guess it's with cases like this one that guys get a bad rep and women complain that men don't take no for an answer.

If you pursued more women at the same time, you wouldn't be in a 'bind'.

Thanks for the harsh truth. I won't pursue her any further.

Men need to.learn sometimes you get a " one and done" and catch a woman in the right moment to get physical.

Because of low volume we( me as well , I'm no better than OP!!) tend to glorify such moments. I mean, how often will OP kiss a 28 y.o.? Once every...10 year, 5 ,3?

So its a MEMORABLE uniquemoment for HIM ,but a weekly/monthly thing for HER.

When you make the thread you know you lost ,right??? How to proceed? By becoming more awesome and get more women to kiss you.

Tbh you ain't ready to get more and she can smell it.
Let
her
Go

.

Thanks for the brutal truth guys. I've known her for ten years, and couldn't believe I gave it a shot, but I did. Oh well, at least I got a kiss. I just hope it doesn't get awkward in the future, because she is a great girl, and a friend.
