I normally don't exhibit proper grammar while talking online, but just for readability I'm going to for this first post.
Anyway, I'm a 10th grader. I'm the pianist in my high school's jazz band. There's a girl there, a drummer, who I found myself becoming attracted to (what can I say, drummer chicks are hot).
Now let me stop for a moment, cause you're probably thinking this is just going to be another one of those threads where the OP's only problem is he's too much of a wuss to ask the girl out. While that is a problem I have, it's something I could have muscled through myself just by reading threads and articles here. I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about that problem anyway.
No, my problem's a bit different, and I couldn't find anyone else here with a really similar one. Let's say I did ask her out successfully, but then something went wrong and it became awkward between us or worse. (and let's face it, in high school there'd be a good chance of that happening) Both the instruments we play are pretty important as far as jazz band goes, and we're both in the percussion section so there needs to be good chemistry. I fear that if aforementioned scenario happened, it might negatively affect how we perform, which would drag the rest of the band down as well.
Maybe I'm just making excuses for myself so I can chicken out like I always have, in which case I AM just a wuss whose only problem is that he's too much of a wuss.
My excuse for not doing it is pretty flimsy. Sure, it wouldn't be pleasant for either of us seeing each other every day if that scenario happened, but I guess it wouldn't affect band performance. Hell, Abbey Road is one of the tightest albums every produced and the Beatles all nearly hated each other by that point.
So now that I just came to that revelation while typing this, it turns out I probably am just another one of the wusses that you all get so tired of seeing every day.
Why am I still posting this? I dunno. Maybe someone has advice for me.
