Alright first off, before you read the meat of the post, stop multi-tasking when you are reading stuff concerning decisions on HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE, and how you want to change. This is a terrible habit saying that you want to change but not enough that you give it your full attention. We are a community jam-packed with people making half-assed decisions. You need to fully take in information, so turn off the TV, mute the music, close the other websites (yes, even the porn), stop looking out the window, relax and just FOCUS. Can you remember the last time someone posted about an issue that pertained EXACTLY to your situation? I want you to pay that kind of attention, because this is relevant to you, whether you think so or not. Okay… now that I have your attention…

I've been reading some of the older posts here and @ FS, and I noticed a trend that occurred during the early stages of the seduction community. Back in the day when most of the current posters where just starting to get those feelings of one-itis over their 1st crush, the pioneer posters were creating threads sparingly and posting without trying to explain the subtleties of the birds and the bees and every other possible component of seduction. Instead, they posted on what pertained to what they needed ONLY, and left the rest to your imaginations and experiences. Back then, there was a much higher ratio experiencing situations FIRST HAND. These are the true DJ's and pick up artists. Now we are riddled with racketeers, flamers and KJ's. I think the main reason is nowadays we leave nothing to the imagination. We feel that we have to find every single possibility before we 'get experience' ...Well, NEWSFLASH, you are not getting experience this way; you are just verifying that someone else's ideas work. We need to stop giving the cake away for free because it isn’t helping people in the end. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that So Suave seems a little overloaded with newbie questions, everyone is so used to getting the EXACT answer they want pertaining to their situation they have no experience in slightly modified situations so we constantly have the same question asked in a slightly different context.

I'm all for reading to brush up on your skill, but to make the game of seduction (YES, it is just a game) much more fun and less mechanical, don't read everything you can pertaining to seduction. It is always a more interesting learning experience to learn through YOUR experience than through a book or website. Trust me I know this first hand. It’s kinda like jumping off a bridge (If you haven’t then you definitely should give it a try, but for now think of something exhilarating you’ve done in your life) When you get right before the point of no return, you are scared, I know, but you don’t need to be reassured that everything will be okay every 5 seconds. Stop being a damn punk and JUMP! It is much better to feel firsthand the experience of the 3 second drop where everything seems to go quiet except for your girlish screaming as you plummet exposed to the water below, and that moment where the water engulfs your body and you lose your breath. That moment is right there….PURE…..BLISS. Not knowing what to expect is the joy of life. Stop looking for the answers in everything and let go. Ignorance IS bliss. Can you think back to the days when the sky could be whatever you wanted it to be? When you could imagine it was where angels resided or where Zeus and the Greek Gods had sex orgies…and then in school you found out the ‘truth’ and a creative, unadulterated part of you died? FVCK THEM, revive what they tried to kill. There is only one reality, YOURS. If someone creates a truth that helps them and doesn’t harm anyone then who are you to prove them wrong? Just so you can gloat and prove you’re “smarter”? Nowadays everyone wants to be the bearer of bad news, the person who tells little children that Santa Clause does not exist.

Life truly is an Art. Do you know what I like best about Art? It is up for interpretation and every person can get something out of it, there is no one truth. Say you’re listenin to some R&B or some emo music (don’t act like you be keeping that rocker/thug image all year round) and it feels like they are talking EXACTLY about your situation but when you listened to it a month ago you couldn’t relate? That’s the thing about Art, it is an expressing and relating to something pure and personal (the basic meaning of rapport!!!!) It changes for every person but what they say is never wrong, and you what else is an Art? Seduction!

Then you have the opposite of Art…Science. When I think of Science I think of cold impersonal facts that are never supposed to change and never help me personally, only pertinent for the sake of saying stating useless facts you know. Sure, there can be a little bit of pleasure in stating how stars are in the universe… but what happens when you reach a problem that has not been covered. You don’t have any experience in problem solving and you can’t consult your trusty dictionary. Similar to the belief structure in humans, once you lose a foundational piece of Science the entire building is coming down.

All I’m trying to get across is a lot of people are reading too much material and read into the material too much, and end up trying to live vicariously through this site (myself included at times) You need to balance out your reading time to NEVER come close to the amount of time you spend learning first hand! Stop putting it off, finding out what Pook said 2 years ago won’t help, reading another post on “Confidence” is only digging your hole deeper, and reading up on LTR material when you wanna be a player or don't want a commitment. New Years is coming up and come the beginning of 2006 I want us to look back at 2005 as being the best year of our lives, when we stopped expanding our mind through excerpts and started to exceed through experience.

This paragraph hit me hard...I've been an avid reader of this forum for the last two years...I read every freaking post in this place and it did not get me anywhere...why? Because I spent most of my time sitting in front of the computer reading and never ACTING...Finally, I started college back in august and had tons of opportunities to apply this stuff...sure, i had my failures but it was worth it...I'd never had so much fun in my life...right now, my life is great and I can honestly say the failures were worth getting to where I am now...I was scared ****less the first few times I approached girls but now I'm getting better...anyway, the bottom line is this: action...if you sit in front of the computer all day reading, thats great but you wont get anywhere...you may have all the seduction material memorized but so what? if you never act, you're right back at where you started...you havent improved...so stop sitting on your ass and go do something....anything...go approach the first hb you see and take it front there...the unpredictability is the fun part...there are opportunities everywhere, are you going to be a man and seize them?

Yup, you're right about that, I think that should be a new year's resolution for everyone. Experience is by far more fun. And I think too many people worry about what others think of them (inlcuding myself), and they are too afraid to fail or try something new, but with every failure hopefully we learn something and we grow that much more. And dependency on any person or anything, including this site, is a sure sign of weakness.

Like he said, don't take it so literally.

But I agree completely with you dude about experience and not doing stuff directly by the book. Hell, I do lots of stuff not-like-a-dj, and though I haven't gotten jack squat with girls, life keeps me occupied to the point that I barely even care. DJ? Not dj? Whatever, I'm happy with it and I'm workin on the girls thing.

It's interesting that you bring up the whole art/science thing too, since I just wrote a 1600-word paper about the two for school. I'm a physics and math kinda guy so I actually bull****ted the half of my paper pertaining to art and my mum wasted about an hour trying to explain art to me-I'm a happy guy with the way I live my life, but your post made me think, about art in general. Could you explain to me what screws my understanding of art here? I'll explain to you my view of art. For the purpose of an example and not getting off topic I'm talking about visual art here, I figure if I can understand that then I can get the rest.

-I don't understand the point of it. A line on a paper, a scene from the woods, whatever. I can see all these different things like where the eyes are drawn to, how different things are emphasized, and how with enough interpretation, there's some kind of message behind it...though the message can be radically different depending on how one interprets it. I get how this can be interesting. I can see how people can even learn from it, but there are far better and more effective ways to learn. Experience, for one. I understand that art is pretty damn fun to do. I can't draw for beans but I made a photoshop scene of Robert Frost's "Mending Wall" for an english project, and enjoyed doing it a lot. However, I don't see how that's really important to anyone but me, and if someone deleted it from my computer and burned the printed copy, I wouldn't mind as long as I still got my A in english. Is my problem that I'm expecting too much from art? Or have I got a totally wrong view of it?

Enlighten me, please. I'm all ears.

I like your post because it shows the people the fact that they can create there own visions of something. Here's an example, in ancient Greece, philosophers created a theory of atomic construction. But they didn't have a microscope or anything of that kind, and btw they weren't too wrong, actually they were pretty damn close. They created it in their minds by combining the facts they know. And this is just one outta many similar examples.
So, do things in your own way, combined with things that you already know that work and I am sure that you will suceed and maybe have better results than blindly living by the book.
And I am sure that you will have much more fun.

emo stands for emotional music

I find it ironic and sad how most of the posts in this thread weren't pertinent to the situation....Ah well, i tried to show you the light... Good luck with your seduction and enjoy life

experience really is the best teacher. then people wonder why all the greats don't post as frequent as they used to. they are off going through new and exciting experiences. we should do the same.

i cant believe most of u are babbling on about emo music when u should be looking at his whole message about how we are all told exactly what to do that we cant be bothered to experience it for ourselves first, and instead whine about the situation here until we get an answer without using our own abilities to solve it which will help us better in the end to help us create solutions for future problems. He's right, we have to have a proven method by someone who has been there first. We need to control our own lives first and not let someone else tell us how it goes. All we need from this place are the basics that are the foundation of a DJ, from there we create our own path and figure out our own lives. Maybe there will be some difficult situations here and there that we find too important to screw up, or u keep trying different things but nothing is working and in that case if u cant figure it out, come here and others will help guide you, but for the most part we all need to stop relying on this forum so much (and this most definitely includes me).
