Hey guys,
This kid who I used to be good friends with went online one day and started talking to this girl. He now claims he is 'dating' her and that he loves her. I find this quite funny because as anyone with half a brain knows, you need to actually know and have met someone before you can be in a relationship with them. He talks to this girl on the phone/online/via sms all day and I think it is ruining his life.

I still have this kids best interests at heart and I want to let him know in the best way possible that his 'relationship' isn't real.
What would be the best way to do this?

EDIT: by the way this has been going on for about 5.5 months.

People don't want to change unless they have a "crisis".

There's nothing you can do, until she starts banging some other guy, and he turns to you. Until then, you'll only get resentment from him.

I've had several friends get married through this route.

My bed, your girl.
haha I had one of those.

tell him that his relationship will eventually fail unless they're able to meet.
also tell him he shouldn't be in love with someone who only speaks to him.

Let him be. He will learn. I didn't exactly have this kind of a relationship. However, I had a relationship a couple of years ago where I met a girl through AIM, we started talking, and since we started talking together so much on AIM... there was no attraction in person. When we got together for a bite to eat after 2 months, the conversation was dead.
Word of advice guys, GET OFF THE COMPUTER! You will be glad you did.

Yeah make sure you're able to talk instead of type.

It sucks when you type better than you talk. (usually)

Haha... international relationships are impossible.

The world is way f*cking bigger than the internet makes it seem.
