Low bar, shoulder-width stance, full depth. No bull****.

Squat:

4 x 5 x 380 lbs
3 x 380 lbs, 1 x 380 lbs

Repeat this weight next time.

My elbow has been bothering me again lately, not sure what's going on as I haven't injured it again. Gave it a little while to rest, I couldn't straighten my arm for 4 days last time and I don't want to go through that again. Will try deadlifting and benching or overhead pressing again later this week.

Squat:

3 x 405 lbs

Overhead press:

2 x 4 x 140 lbs
3 x 140 lbs

Deficit deadlift:

3 x 3 x 435 lbs

I was at a different gym than usual and they had standard bars but their plates were smaller than standard diameter. I think their 45 lb plates were the same size as standard 35 lb plates or even a little smaller.

Great work dude! Squatting triples with 4 plates is fantastic! Did the deficit deadlifts throw your lifting mechanics off a lot?

Another great session! Keep it up.

I didn't have access to a gym over winter break, then I lost interest in training for a while. Just didn't feel like going, kept making excuses, missing workouts, next thing I know it's been 2 months. 2nd day back today:

Squat:

3 x 5 x 325 lbs

Bench press:

3 x 5 x 165 lbs

Deadlift:

3 x 405 lbs
2 x 405 lbs

Squat & bench felt fine, but I almost passed out on the 3rd rep of deadlifts so I waited a few minutes then did 2 more. I had to sit down after the last 2 because I was very close to passing out, my hearing went out and I started to see stars. This happened to me when I first started lifting weights and I actually passed out once, but it hasn't happened in years. I guess I just need to get re acclimated to the weights after such a long layoff.

Now the plan is just linear progression again as close to my previous strength levels as possible then switch back to the Texas Method.

Squat:

3 x 5 x 335 lbs

Bench:

3 x 5 x 170 lbs

Deadlift:

4 x 405 lbs, 1 x 405 lbs

Started to feel like I was going to pass out again on 3rd rep. Hearing didn’t go out this time but vision started to. Very strange, I feel like the strength is there but I’m going to pass out, and it only happens on deadlifts… maybe I should wear a bicycle helmet to the gym next time.

Tried to train on Friday but my chest and legs were incredibly sore, I started to warm up for squats but decided to skip it, same with bench, then just went home. I’m getting back into the groove though, not sore today just a bit fatigued.

Haven't had much time to get on here so haven't been recording workouts, here's yesterday, had a pounding headache when I went in so I went pretty light:

Squat

5 x 335 lbs
2 x 5 x 315 lbs

Chin up:

3 x 5 x bodyweight

Haven't done these in a while... Can probably get 8 now, used to be able to do 15, but I was probably 25 lbs lighter back then  Will start doing these regularly again but I think I'll do towel pullups most of the time, they're a great grip exercise and feel more natural to me.

Good morning:

3 x 8 x 185 lbs

Hamstrings and abs are super sore from these. Going to start doing these regularly as well.

I feel like I've really fallen off the wagon lately with low motivation, missing workouts and etc, need to get back into it. I've been having a hard time getting that adrenaline rush at the gym lately, makes it a lot harder to grind out a heavy set. It's kind of depressing, last semester I squatted 405 for a set of 5 and deadlifted 475 for 3, nowadays squatting 350 feels heavy and I doubt I could pull 475 for 1 rep.

3/3/11/

Bench:

4 x 5 x 165 lbs
4 x 165 lbs Got about halfway up here and got stuck.

DB Bench:

8 x 60 lbs
8 x 55 lbs
8 x 50 lbs

Was planning on doing 3x10 dips after this but was too ambitious, I could barely get 4, upper body felt completely wiped out

Zercher squat:

5 x 235 lbs
5 x 245 lbs

Always wanted to try these, they feel like a great exercise, can see them really helping my deadlift. Really felt it in my abs. I go down until the bar touches my thighs. I think a short term goal will be 315 x 5 on these.

Chin up:

7 x bodyweight
6 x bodyweight
5 x bodyweight

Deadlift:

5 x 325 lbs
5 x 345 lbs
5 x 365 lbs

Still been training just haven't been updating this.

Squat:

3 x 5 x 340 lbs

Chin up:

3 x 5 x bodyweight

Sumo deadlift:

5 x 375 lbs

I think this is my 2nd time trying these... Really feel them in my hamstrings. I put my legs just outside my arms, so barely sumo, and it still feels weird. I don't understand how some guys use the super wide stance where their toes are almost touching the plates, it feels so uncomfortable to me.

Last workout was 3/28 not 3/29, just noticed that.

3/30/11

Bench:

5 x 5 x 155 lbs

Zercher squat:

5 x 135 lbs
3 x 185 lbs
1 x 225 lbs
1 x 275 lbs
1 x 315 lbs This ended up being a dead-stop zercher because the bar was slipping a little in my arms and I had to re-balance.

DB bench:

3 x 8 x 55 lbs

Used lower weight on bench because my elbow was bothering me a bit last week so I skipped benching.

No lower back soreness at all from the sumo deadlifts like I usually get from conventional, I think I will start doing them more often to assist my conventional DL.

Missed a couple workouts since last time, the semester is coming to a close so I’ve been super busy and haven’t had a lot of time to make it to the gym. Wasn't able to make it in til very late tonight and I was tired, this was pretty much a stopgap workout.

4/17/11

Squat:

3 x 5 x 350 lbs

These felt great.

Bench:

6 x 165 lbs
5 x 165 lbs

Was supposed to get 8. I was daydreaming and I lost track of time and probably didn’t rest long enough between this and squats.

Close grip bench:

2 x 8 x 145 lbs

This was strange, felt super easy even though it’s only 20 lbs less than the bench… I use a pretty narrow grip, thumbs just on the smooth part of the bar.

Deadlift:

5 x 325 lbs
5 x 345 lbs
7 x 365 lbs
