Hey Chaps

At the moment, i work out three time a week and have been doing so for about nine months. However, i will be travelling for a month over xmas, in mexico and the USA. I am worried about keeping in shape - does anybody have any tips or experianced the same problem??

Cheers

Yeah man... drink some creatine everyday. That should preserve your muscle mass.

Worried about keeping in shape are you? You really shouldn't be so insecure. :D

Staying In Shape On Vacation

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

do body weight exercises to maintain mass, pushups (lots of variations), tricep dips between chairs, chest dips between parallel bars of some sort, maybe hand rails.

piggy back someone for squats, or just find a gym in your area

Take a month off and drink a lot of beer. Seriously, I'm never too concerned if I have to miss a month now and then. I am off to Australia for 5 weeks at Christmas, I will try and hit the gym every now and then but I know I will get right back in shape when I return anyway. Maybe a such time away will be to our advantage?

Yea, another whinging aussie huh? Excuse England for having the best player, the best pack, the best coach and the best set up in the world. We beat you in your national stadium and that's the fifth victory in a row against the whingers! Seriously though, Australia are a great team and it was so close but as Michael Liner said, Australia were outmuscled. George Gregan was as gracious in defeat as England were in victory, others could take a leaf from their book.

As for my trip, will be in Sydney and then Perth from Christmas until early Feb, being a pasty Englishman I need some sun!

I will not be able to use gyms etc because i will not be staying in hotels - i will be staying in dorms and moving between towns every 3-4 days so i guess that it will be impossible

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

All right here is what I do. I'm assuming you are taking a backpack right? If not then get one. What I do is various pushups with a heavy backpack on. If there are tables or dressers that are the same height, I put my packpack on and do dips. if not, then I put two chairs next to stable objects like a wall and the bed and do dips with those.

Hell, you could probably even take the corner of the whole bed and lift it using your legs(using the end might hurt you if you drop it on your knees when lifting). Never tried this but it could work.

Your not going to get a good workout in a hotel room but at least you can still challenge yourself.

If i'm only gone for like a week or two I don't bother with these because I just want to relax, but if I'm gone for a long time, travelling all over and don't want o lose too much muscle then I will do these.

Oh ya, here's another one I though of that could work. Take a small sturdy piece of rope with you(or a really long belt) and tie one end to a heavy bag and put it over the metal bar in the coat hanger and use that as a pulley. You can now do a number of things. Pulldowns(if you have 2 ropes), work your biceps, triceps, legs of you have a long enough rope.

If Im only gone for a week or if im ill for a week and dont work out at all, but still take in enough protein (and calories in general i guess) my lifts are usually still the same.
Considering youll be gone for 4 weeks I guess you would probably loose a little muscle, but maybe u wont lose any if you do push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups and umm....there were some exercises for the legs too...dunno what they r called in english though. Id try that backpack thing though, cause if u lift weights u usually work out mostly fast twich fibers cause u (should) do reps in the range of 4-8 or so, but if u did push-ups without a backpack..like 30 or 40 or maybe 500 lol ud theoretically work out slow twitch fibers. So theoretically it wouldnt help u keep ur muscle which consists of fast twich fibers.....its a lot more complicated than this but I guess normal push ups would do practically..If u got a backpack use it though.

Great game indeed, i've never held my breath for so long, Australia were tipped at losing, and they just kept hanging on, levelling the game twice, only after Jonny's drop goal did i take a breath, sure the english had won, but it was still worth it to watch the game.

As for Gregan, boy did he get tackled, lifted and dropped 2 metres away, that one tackle would of sent me crying, but he just played on like nothing happened.

Great game, was fun, 4 more years to go :)
