Idk I think it makes me seem more mysterious to people and it forces me to go out and meet people. Also I'm in a situation and it just caused me to over think and fret about it besides keeping my cool.

I think it strongly decrease the chances she would be turned off from crap that could exist in your board first of all.

A lot of guys screw up because they upolad their WoW record on fb or have stupid friends loading stupid things in their board, we all agree that stuff like this its not what makes a man but go explain it to girls surfing your board..

If you need to disable your fb to force yourself go out and meet people, well, that sucks (been there). Being misterious is just a little part of your personality, it ain't gonna get you laid if you don't have other qualities balanced out. If you spend time stalking your 'targets' on fb you just have too much free time.
The very thing - thinking about fb and its affect on your social life is a bit of over-analyzing, and it seems to me it's just a desperate try to mask the true reasons for your lonliness.

Of course it affects your social life--it's a social networking site

You know how many friendships are started/ended, relationships started/ended, hookups started/ended thanks to facebook? This is the world we live in now.

Anyway, I expected different responses in this thread but i guess i'll be the first to congratulate you. i deleted mine a few years ago and have no regrets. if you want to reach me, you have my number. also flakes are less of a problem because chicks aren't able to view my profile at any time and get their fix. want your fix? call me and we'll set something up

you also avoid facebook drama which, when dealing with people my age, is always a problem. a sad problem, but a problem nonetheless

I never said it has no effect, but it's not necessairly good or bad. It's up to you how you use it. You can use it or not, but neither of those two ways is generaly the right way. It's just a personal preference. Cheers

I also deleted my facebook 2 weeks ago. For me it was privacy concerns and thinking about where facebook is heading.

For example: How creepy is it for a workplace to ask for your facebook account's password? U.S. government agencies do it.

It's not as if you have to make everything on your profile visible to everyone, I'm noticing that the people who keep advocating deleting it also claim to have done so years ago so they themselves are probably unaware that Facebook now gives you much finer control over what you allow others to see. You don't want a chick to know everything then make it so that anything you don't want her to see is not visible to her by default. I do the same thing all the time for acquaintances and the few coworkers I have on their, they don't get to see everything nor even view many of my status updates, which are mostly directed to close friends anyhow.

On top of that, so much is coordinated through it now that deleting it would be shooting myself in the foot socially as I'd never know what's going on until after the fact. Parties and other events are mostly promoted on there nowadays and invites sent out via Facebook, few are even going to think to call that one guy who doesn't have Facebook and let him know, if they even remember.

An alternative to deleting your Facebook entirely would be to simply use it to your advantage by customizing it more. There's no law that says that you have to allow everybody on earth to post on your wall, see your wall posts, photos, or even see your friends list.

I'm not totally sure since the recent changes, but isn't there still a setting on it that's called "Only Me"? If so, this should allow you to block everybody from seeing your info but you (and of course the CIA, FBI, Google head honchos, and a variety of other "Big Brother" type organizations...lol)

I know of quite a few guys who only have a Facebook page to post up one or two pics, an email address, and the most basic----but SPARSE information. For them, they just use it to establish a "presence" on the site----but not as a platform of communication itself.

This tactic works pretty well for me and for a lot of other guys.

But now, if guys are using it to "E-Stalk" old girlfriends, or if guys are obsessed with checking it every 5 minutes, then having a Facebook page probably isn't a good idea for them to have at all.

Bad move and I'll tell you why in one word: pre-selection.

As Roissy/Chateau/Heartiste is emphasizing yet again in his latest post, pre-selection is the number one most powerful tool in a player's arsenal. Unless you have female groupies following you around, I've become convinced that facebook is the best platform for you to show off. Yes, you can call it shallow since it is. But then again, we are here to look at how to increase our chances with women, not to philosophize about metaphysics. When you think about it, facebook gives everyone their 5 seconds of fame. That's why pple are constantly posting pictures and retarded comments on it, for the desperate hope that somebody else will give them a "like".

Pathetic, I know, but when you use it to your advantage it will help your game grow exponentially. And here we go back to pre-selection. The vast majority of my pics on fb are either with hot chicks (exes, random hookups, even random girls) or with my boys having a good time (partying, Vegas, on boats, at the beach, surfing). I'm not posting every 5 minutes, but when I do, the first 10 comments are from hot chicks. If anyone posts something on my wall I don't like, i take it off, be it a comment or a photo of me that looks retarded.

Does this work? I can certainly vouch for it. Recently a girl I've been seeing has posted a bunch of pics of us at a wedding. Now you bet she was looking off the hook, got dolled out for 2 hours before we went to the event. The same day the pics were up, three other girls texted me out of the blue with some variant of "hey, we haven't hang out in a while, we should do something this week."

With a very minimal effort on your part, you can get great results from fb.

Listen to what coochieman says......

GOOD MOVE, BROTHER. No doubt about it, [although restrictions and sparse info while keeping your account is almost as good if you're too ***** to delete yours]. Facebook is nothing but a platform for extreme foolin' and attention seekin'........

A player is a player, he's good and everybody knows it. Whether or not he's got a Facebook account or not, so fucck all that crap of social proofin' and showin' off.....

Mystery might be only a tiny pre-requisite regarding the game as a whole, but fucck yeah its mandatory!

Why's everyone so against Facebook? Personally I game chicks and get numbers there. I see nothing wrong with it. If you find some girl you wouldn't meet in person then who cares, might as well message her. What do you have to lose?

Of course gaming in person is more effective, and funner. But if you have such a weapon at your disposal then why not?
