Hey this is iwanttofight here. As of today I will be writing a daily log of my training. This is not going to be your normal run of the mill training log that you see on every lifting forum. I am not your normal cookie cutter kind of guy. This is going to be something very different from that. "So iwanttofight what are you going to be logging about"? I will be logging my MMA training and what I go through for my next professional MMA fight.
Six months ago I dislocated my arm in a cage fight in Atlantic City. I was fighting a very good brazilian jiu jitsu fighter that also wrestled in college. While I was raining down punches to my opponents face, he wrapped his legs around my arm and applied a very tight armbar. As the pressure on my elbow was getting tighter and tighter, I knew I had to do something fast. So I tryed to roll out of the armbar over my right shoulder. Midway through my roll to get out of the armbar, my arm snapped in half like a dry piece of pine wood. The referree saw this and stopped the fight instantly, and the medics took me to the hospital to pop my arm back in it's rightful place. After 18,000 dollars of insurance money on doctors bills and rehab, here I am. For the past six months I have been taking it easy. My lifestyle has completely changed. Instead of going to the gym 2-3 times a day, I have been watching alot of movies, playing online poker, and started a new job. I also have been eating alot of very delicious and tasteful foods. I weighed in at 169 pounds the day before I had my fight and to believe it or not I weigh 212 pounds right now. Wow 43 pounds in 6 months, I am a fat motherf*cker lol. So I got alot of work to do to get myself in the kind of shape Rocky was when he fought Apollo Creed. Yooooo Adriannnnnnnnn!
I am going to push myself like I have never been pushed before! I am going to try to turn myself into a Mutant, a human weapon. As you may know, much is needed to become superb at MMA. Being strong and having a sexy sculpted body of Greek god is great, but there are many more attributes that I must and will attain. I have sparred with an abundance of extremely muscle bound guys that would give Arnold Schwarzenegger a run for his money in a bodybuilding contest, (when he was younger). Many of them could not punch harder than my friend's sexy sister or they had the stamina of male virgin banging a Playboy centerfold, do you understand grasshopper? Speed, flexibility, timing, mental fortitude, power, explosiveness, and stamina are just some of the attributes that I will be working diligently on. I will also be training extensively in many disciplines of the martial arts required for MMA. I specialize in muay thai, brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing, taekwondo, and wrestling.
I will be posting pictures and videos along the way showing my progression to fight time. Tomorrow I will be posting my stats with weight, height, reach, ect.
There are alot of very smart and bright people on this forum, from all over the world. I would be honored if you have any diet tips, workout pointers, and technique recommendations to offer me. The more you give in life the more you get back. Let's say for example if you are a bodybuilder or a sprinter, and you have some good exercises that worked for you. Write them in the log below and I promise I will try them out. Then I will critique and write about it in my training log below.
Muhammad Ali said that when he did sit-ups he did not start counting until it started to hurt, because that is when it counts. This is the mentality I must have.
