I've a question about asking for this girl's number

I met a really pretty girl, 8.5 i would say, we danced a little, then i walked away.
an hour or so later i see her sitting on her own, so i go and talk to her, she seems fairly interested, asks me about my tattoos and stuff, asks what im studying, then tells me what she is studying, you know, the usual, i then go right into asking for her number, to which she says that she doesnt have her phone on her, and proceeds to show me how she has no pockets, and then she says she doesnt know her cell number by heart, i then say well thats too bad isnt it, i guess ill see you around.

In the small talk we were making i mentioned that i saw her at the gym today, and asked about her interest in dancing.

Before i get up to go, she says to me that if i see her at the gym, i should ask for her number there, i was like, well okay but i dont know how often ill see you there, and she finished with "if its meant to be, then its meant to be"

i just walked off.

Now, finally my question.

If i do see her at the gym, and i mean, i go to the gym 5 times a week so its going to happen sooner or later, do i act like i totally remember her and then "forget" to ask for her number, or do i ask for it right away then not talk to her? do i totally blank her?

I need some idea as to how i should play this situation.

I realise that putting my finger to her lips and saying SHHHH, i probably wont remember you next time, would have been the perfect way to close the situation, but i didnt think that quickly.

Ask yourself this:

If she had been the one that asked you for your number, and you were really interested in her, then what would you tell her?

Let's just say you didn't know your cell phone number. Come to think of it, I don't even know my own. Anyway, I'd sure be giving her my home phone number or making it easy for her to get in touch with me. Do you agree?

It's sounds like low interest to me, but I like to give women two chances to prove otherwise.

So, here's what I'd do. I'd leave it up to her to give the number to you. Remember, interested women will make it easy for you to get in touch with them.

If she hasn't given it to you by the time you or her are about to leave, then go ahead and ask her again if you want to. Personally, I wouldn't do it. Her actions would show her true interest.

Yeah, i think you're probably right that her interest levels arent too high. She wouldnt have a home phone number, as we're in college and just started 2 weeks ago, she moved to london from some other city and the halls that we are staying in dont provide phone numbers.
But i think im just going to talk to her, be ****y/funny, maybe even use some kino, i mean if im in the gym it would be the perfect chance to use some kino, and then if she brings up the fact that i asked for her number and wants to give it to me, then thats cool, if she doesnt, then thats equally cool, its her loss and im sure ill bump into 10 girls id rather fukk on the way home anyway.
