italians are usually shorter than americans...
a girl i know that lives in america says her boyfriend is short... and he's 5'8 and a half... if 5'9 were the average, half a inch less wouldn't be short...

btw My mom side of the family is sicilian and two of her brothers are 5'6,5'5 shes 5'4, my moms granparents are short as well, I dont know about the entire country of italy though, but sicilians are short lol!.

because it is... my younger brother is 6'0 even and he's perfectly average in his junior class... i'm 5'9 and i'm the shortest one in my senior...
