So anyways I was talking to my friend the other night about college life. He's spent a year at a large university while I have lived at home and went to school. I'm leaving home in the fall to attend a larger school.

So yea, we were talking about college life (dorm life) and he told me to wear flip flops in the shower because u don't want to step in any nasty sh*t. "People jerk off in there" he told me.

So naturally I brought up the topic of jerking off. I said "So where do u jerk off in a big residence hall. Do you have any privacy"

He replied.

"Well before I had a girlfriend I just did it in my room when my roommate was gone"

did you catch it?

He threw in there, without me asking, that he is active with his woman. Good for him but wtf I didn't ask that. All I asked him was where a playa is supposed to jerk it every now and then while living in a dorm room.

This may seem stupid but it really pisses me off when people try to slip little hints in about what's going on in their lives when you didn't ask. I Could give a ton of different examples but this one happened most recently. SO yea I guess I'm just venting about it. JEBUS it gets on my nerves. And I don't want any replies saying sh*t like "well at least he's gettin some" That's not the point of this thread. That's why I posted it in anything else.

Yeah it pisses me off when people do this too. Well not really piss me off, but it irritates me. Although as minor as the problem may be, over the course of months it just builds up. One time I actually did go off on my friend. He's notorious for trying to build up rep points by slipping in these small unnecessary facts. It was purely on reaction, I was like "dude STFU I don't want to know about that." He asked me why I was so irritated and I'm like "Just fvcking tell me what I need to know, nothing else, I don't fvcking care about anything else."

Over a period of time, like months and months, it gets irritating. If it happens only once or twice, it's not a big problem.

Do you really think that's intentional, though? I could easily say something similar without being aware of it at the time.

Most definitely without the intent of upsetting, someone, either.

Well I don't know about the others, but in my situation my friend is a known attention ***** who lies about everything. He has a need to one up everything that everyone says to make himself look better.

Exactly. It's not that big a deal IMO. I've got better things to worry about, honestly.

You sound really anti-sociable. Who cares? It's good conversation - especially when girls do it.

Agreed. But each to their own, I guess.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

When somebody does this it is called "Free Information." yea, most people do it to get attention, but just get used to it as all people do it, and it's good to pick up on extra info like this when you are talking to girls. It shows them your sociable. One complaint girls have about guys is that we don't listen. So if you learn to pick up on this extra info, and remember it, you will stand out in a girls mind.

Now, when you are talking to your friends, you can practice ignoring it. That usually shuts them up right away. Politely keep the topic on the thread of the conversation.

You: So where do you whack off?
Him: Well since I got a girl friend, I don't whack off anymore.
You: Uh huh. So before you got a girlfriend where did you wack off?

Or, per your example

You: so where do you wack off?
Him: before I got a girlfriend I wacked off while my roomate was gone.
You: (totally ignore the gf part) Did he ever walk in on you? Did you whack off anyplace else? Did you store your porns any place special?

Why are you guys even talking about your masturbatory habits?

In all honesty, if you want to ask him where he jerks off, you shouldn't get irritated when he tells you his girlfriend does it for him.

Yeah, it can be annoying when someone decides to brag about some trivial bullsh1t like "I was the star quarterback in HS!" That's when you just say good for you, but you're not in HS. However, if you ask a question, don't be annoyed when you get a complete answer.

I think you are over analyzing this sh1t. If you are overly affected by this then maybe its a sign that you should get a woman as well.

You might be pissed at him that he threw in there that he is active with women but it was your idea to talk about your bodily function.

The one thing I do hate is when women do it. Even when you are not attempting to pick them up, they can still randomly just mention "oh my boyfriend this and my boyfriend that", just to get some attention and validation from others.

That's a basic conversation skill.

You let some information dangle in order to further or steer the conversation.

Listen for that if you want to do better with people.
