Isn't meeting/seducing/keeping women overestimated here?

The difference between a player and a DJ is supposed to be something like the player seduces and the DJ aspires to be the seduced, in some ways, true? About growing as men. Rollo linked to this... paper, that talked about how in some ways you could "measure" a man. A man has to be able to support at least himself.

So I join those who before me have asked for a finance/money section.

It's not as if its any different to take women advice from complete strangers, than to take money advice from complete strangers. One decides what to take and what not to.
Especially since this site is younger than 25. Guys can be drowned to the typical lifestyle of just passing life, and having women be the fun in life. What about the fun of buying your first car, fun in being able to support your mother (or parents, etc). Now that is something a DJ should really be aiming towards, not clogging their minds with women. They only do that, clog ones mind.

These thoughts you share ring very close to my definition of a DJ. My main aspiration as a DJ is to be a self-made, self-determinate man. A man who puts himself in positions to create and bring to fruition the ambitions and desires of himself and others; a leader, in other words. Ever growing in strength, determination, persistence and courage is my ultimate aspiration. Of course I want to be wealthy, it's the focus of everything I do, but we must produce wealth for others to earn our own, or we must render invaluable service to the aid of others' quests for wealth. My greatest financial goal (and achievement) will be to give my parents $1,000,000.00.

In other words, my idea of a DJ is a man so great that by his very nature he drives women to distraction. "Be the Flame, Not the Moth" as Casanova said.

Actually the definition of being a Man is to produce more than you consume - ergo, to be able to provide provisioning for others.

Exactly. So isn't this site dedicated to build men rather than everyday players with canned lines? A man, who can provide for more than just himself, as Phoenix's goal is, to give a million to his parents.

The only argument people make against the finance/money section is that you don't know who you are taking advice from. Well... isn't it the same thing than taking advice about women? We are men, we don't just read something and do it, we analize it.

This is why maybe the DJs slowly migrate, because there is nothing left except the Anything Else forum, they stop worrying about women. They are unclogged.

 I agree with what your saying. I too have requested a finance forum/Business forum or sub forum of A/E...

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and disagree with this actually. Here's why. It's definitely a good idea to become financially literate, but there are already lots of great sites out there, like Investopedia and Wall Street Oasis, or full blown publications like the Wall Street Journal or Financial Times.

There is also a lot of flat out crap sites, like any of the Yahoo Finance message boards, some of Motley Fool (no I don't want to sign up for your damn email newsletter!), and much of EliteTrader. It would take a lot of work for the mods to clean up the crap posts from good ones.

Plus, we'd be getting more traffic for people coming for the business section who know nothing about the DJ ideas and so forth, so expect a lot more crap posts in the main discussion forum.

So what I'm saying is that it's definitely a good idea to learn about finance, but I just don't see it meshing in well with this forum.
