Is this good enough eating?

I want to gain weight.

It's hard to eat 6 meals a day because of school, but on the weekends, I try to eat 6 at least one of the days (Saturday is my free day so I don't eat six).

I just take the meats I cooked the night before, and eat as much of it as I can for every meal. I try to eat carbs only in the first 3 or 4 meals, and then cut them off for the day.



Schoolday diet:



6:00 AM)

-Beef with veggies

-oatmeal, ganola bars, and/or bananas and apples.



12:30 PM)

-School lunch, which is usually some kind of chicken sandwhich from a fast food place (next month I am going to bring my own lunch to school, which will be beef/veggies - I'll deal with the chicken sandwhiches for now since I already payed for it)

-granola bars, bananas, apples, etc.



3:00 PM)

-3-4 boiled eggs

-more carbs



6:00 PM)

-Beef with veggies



9:00 PM)

-Grilled chicken breast

-1 tbsp flaxseed oil



I drink some kind of carbohyrate drink after my workout (forgot the name of it) that gives me something like 80-100g of carbs. I usually workout after my 3:00 meal.

Also, I don't want to take any protein shakes. They make me want to use the bathroom every 30 mins, which makes me very uncomfortable at school.


Is this good enough?

ANd whats wrong with a shake before and after a workout? Go to Trueprotein.com they have a whey shake that causes little to no gassy sideffects and what not.

I work out either after my 3:00 PM meal or after my 6:00 PM meal.

As a previous shake-maniac (drinking up to 4 shakes a day), I am through with this stupid stuff. I no longer drink milk or shakes, and I will only eat solid food (man food!). No more creatine, glutamine, or vitamin C. The only exception will be my quick carb drink, which I take right after my workout.

I weight 155 lbs. Since doing this, I have been gaining about 1 pound per week. I don't know how much body fat I have, but I can barely see my abs.

I'm not sure how much I am eating in terms of the beef, but I think I'm getting about 200-250g of carbs per day. For ever meal, I take the meat I am eating and eat as much of it as I can (with the exception of the stupid school meal I get, but that will change next month), then I grab some carbs and eat some more.

This is what I eat monday to friday, with no exceptions or cheat meals. On Saturday I take the day off, and eat whatever I want, and on Sunday I throw in an extra meal of eggs or beef, since I don't have school.

I don't understand the question "What are the totals for each macro?"

I do Stronglifts 5x5, and I play tennis.

Thanks for the reply. Some things I'd like to say:

-I don't wanna get fat, so adios to the granola bars!
-The chicken sandwiches I eat are always grilled.
-I don't work out right after I eat the eggs. I try wait as long as possible, so the minute I get home I'll be right on time for my next meal. So it looks more like this:

3:00 PM) Eat
5:00 PM) workout
6:00 PM) Get home and eat (this meal would be my carb drink with my beef)

-I'll get some carbs in before I workout as you suggested
-I'll get some fish oil capsules
-I definitely drink about two gallons of water a day. I think I get in almost a full gallon before school is finished.
-I sleep at 10:00 PM
