Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I met this girl in my math class. I see her every other day. I got her number today.

I hate texting. I hate phones, in fact if I lost my cell phone I really wouldn't want to replace it. Every other women I've hooked up with I have engaged in some form of texting and I feel it's just stupid.

Like I understand you don't text when you should call, text with an objective, etc. That's common sense. But text to flirt? That's just not what I want to do. I'd rather call to set up a meet or preferably do it in person.

So the question is, with the frequency I see this girl, do I really need to text her to flirt? I mean it just seems so stupid to me to do it -- I guess this could be kind of an experiment. That said I have not made any phone contact with her at all and I guess it would be weird if I called her to arrange a meeting out of the blue without ever texting her first.

What do you guys think?

I think a girl would find it very odd if you didn't have a phone. That would be a pretty clear indication that you have nobody to talk to, which means you probably had no friends. Even if this isn't the case, that's how she would perceive it.

In regards to texting, yes it's a must. The only time I "call" a girl is when I actually have gotten to know her over a period of time. Texting is easier, it's fun, and girls love to see new messages coming in. But calling a girl you just met is too forward and will come off as creepy.

Well she knows I have a phone, it's not like I don't. I really just do not want to text anybody, simple truth. I just think it's a terrible form of communication. I'm feeling like I should probably send a text to breed familiarity.
