Is skinny better then being fat in HighSchool?

Ok. I am about 5 foot 11. And weigh about 125 pounds.

I am really skinny that you can see my ribs. (As my name would suggest though. BTW. That is not my nickname, I just don't like using my real name on here)

Well I went to my doctor and he put me on this diet that could "bulk" me up. It didn't work. He increased it, and it still didn't work. I eat a lot!

He says that my metabolism is too fast. He says that I would have to spend about 200-250 on food just to get to a "normal" weight.

He has put me on many different kind of pills/nutritonal suplements but they didn't work.

He has now offered me this pill which will slow down my metabolism. But he warns me that It could cause permament changes to my metabolism. (Which I don't want)

So my question is. In HighSchool (specificaly) Is it better to be underweight? Or Overweight? (I don't know how commited I will be to doing weight lifting everyday)

Man you are perfectly fine!!! FAT == FVCKED.

I'm 5'10" and around 125lbs too, maybe less. My metabolism is really fast too, seems like i **** it all out right after i eat, and i eat alot too!

My advice to you is, start working out. You have NO fat to lose, and you will gain muscle. Muscle == Looks good. And i'm pretty sure most girls would much rather be w/skinny than fat.

Also, do lots of ab crunches. Acquiring a 6-pack is not hard cuz u have no fat to lose really, and having nice abs is always a good thing to have

Work out is the simple answer. Just eat! It doesn't matter what, but just eat as much as you can. Also, do some serious bulking up with weights.

Don't worry about this. Both extremes are bad, but its ok because they can both be changed. There are more important things that you can work on in the meantime as well. Just read the bible.

BTW I wouldn't be taking this guy's advice too seriously. All the information you need can be found for free on the internet (for instance, the health & fitness forum is a good place to start) and the only supplement you will really need is whey protein IMO. Supplements in general don't do much. There is no magical pill - just KNOW WHAT TO DO AND DO IT. All there is to it.

I wouldn't take the pill. What happens if it screws your metabolism and you end up being a 300lb fattie? You'd wish you stayed slim.

And like jive said, read the guide to bulking up. If you're not gaining weight, eat more. If you eat 6 meals a day you should be able to get in enough calories to make at least a little weight gain.

Wt don't matter if you're trying to get girls. If it's for your health, then thin's definately better than fat. I personally would care for myself more than chicks.

Eat alot and alot and alot of Carbohydrates. Those things will add on and you'll be hungry fast so you can eat MORE CARBS! lol.

to be honest i thought that muscles would equal chicks

and the truth is that for the most part it is just icing on the cake

though 1 and 2 can be switched

but being skinny sucks.

atleast be a bit toned.

guys who are that skinny usually get pushed arond and get no respect

High school sucks for skinny and fat guys, mainly because they tend to be more insecure. I graduated high school 5'9'' and 125lbs. I had been trying to gain weight since I was 12 but it never worked because I wasn't finished growing yet. Three years later, I now have added 30 more pounds of muscle. I don't feel significantly bigger but I do feel more confident and positive, because the workouts I performed gave me a sense of control and a feeling that I was accomplishing something. You don't have to join a gym but I would suggest doing something that makes you feel good about yourself. You'll worry less about your body image and others will take note of your self-assurance.

I am 6'2" and i used to weigh 140. I always got comments about how skinny I was and I hated it.

All my life i have eaten a lot, but i decided i was gonna bulk so i really started jamming down the cabohydrates. My workouts yielded more muscle and bones in my chest stopped sticking out. Now people comment on how much bigger I look. BTW I am currently 170 aiming for about 185.

Personally I think niether. Actually it dosn't matter on how you look to much. I'm 14yrs. old , 5'8 1/2 and 175 pds. and 8% body fat. You can see my abbs and i'm definatly not fat. But it really dosn't really matter to chicks if I was 125 and you could see my bones instead of muscel. Average tp hot chicks don't give a **** they get that **** all the time. What they likes eye contact. stuff like that.

If your skinny, 5 inch shlong looks bigger then a fat guy with the same sized shlong.

does that even work? when i hear girls talking about it they are:

1: sluts (b/c they talk about it in public)
2: they dont know any facts just assuming what theyd like to be true

3: making pointless guesses while they are bored

besides **** size isnt much of an issue for woman as long as it does the job espically in HS

I don't know too much about this but the way I interpret it, diet is extremely important to weight lifting. Not just quantity.

If I were you I would do some research and find out what types of foods you need in what amounts.
