Is my girlfriend right to be disappointed in me for postponing a sleep over date in order to care of my sick folks?

So my girlfriend and I have been dating for the last 3 years. We do sleepovers regularly at my place and we had one planned for this coming Friday. However I've been in a tough kind of situation since last year whereby I have a terminally sick mum which my girlfriend is aware of.

So it turned out that since the start of this week my mom has been quite down with fevers and being bedridden which meant I had to travel out of town to monitor her situation for a few days since she has no one to look after her as my dad passed on when I was a young boy. It appears that my absence out of town would extend till the weekend and my girlfriend seems to be bitchy at this whole scenario. I took the responsibility to inform her all of this in advance so as to postpone, seeing that I have a responsibility overload with my sick mum at the moment. However she didn't even bother to respond with an affirmative or acknowledgement thus leaving the impression that this hasn't gone down with her. I don't know what to make of this behaviour given that she knows my situation and hence this had left me thinking about what may have been done better.

Any insights on this? Thanks

She can be disappointed, but she better not try and make you feel guilty or give you **** about it.

Do what you need to do.

How exactly did you tell her you had to postpone? How did you phrase it?

Family always comes first. People's true colors come out at your lowest points...her colors aren't looking really pretty right about now.

I would stop the nc. You did what you needed to do, now if you have time for your girl continue. It's up to her if she wants to make a big deal about it. I would proceed as if nothing happened.

This is just a beginning of you seeing a self-centered woman. And it will keep happening, if you let it.
If she had class, she'd go help you.

Why don't you tell her it made you feel weird that she didn't even acknowledge what you said?

NC for what? She seems just fine with NC. It's not helping anything.

Is she right to be disappointed for you helping your sick mom... What do you think, OP? Would you be upset with her if she needed to cancel to take care of her sick mom?

I won't be irrationally mad, I'd reason out given the situation that family gets first priority during such situations.

Translation from AFC into English - I will not make her mad and risk losing an opportunity for some lousy sex with this girl once in a while, I much rather be a nice guy and use my logic to explain to this woman that I love my mother I feel very sorry for not giving you some of my unsexual attention while my mother is terminally ill and dying, and I will do all this and hopefully we can be together and one day I will marry you and support you financially and we could be happy forever, until the day I die.

You go for it and wonder, how will she treat you on your death bed, will she be there for you.

If she is with you for 3 years now, it's an LTR, with possibility of marriage. Proper thing for her to do was to volunteer to go with you, meet your mother. Consider her as bad wife material.
There would be no possibility of this after I witnessed her actions regarding that. OP would be smart to stop wasting his time. She is not a good human being.

Exactly. Now apply that same logic to her, recognize how silly she's being and treat her accordingly.

When my dad was sick and in need of being transported somewhere to get an errand done, my GF never complained. Sometimes she came with me. When my dad was sick and dying in the hospital, my GF came with me as support (without me asking). When my dad died and all the paperwork and such had to be taken care of for my mother, my GF helped.

Now, what the fvck is your GF doing to help?
