Is it really bad to have pauses of slilence in converations? The question is as simple as that really...
Does it give a bad impression?

i would say depends if ur person to person or ova da phone. i was just on da phone with a girl i really like and we weren't talken and i was readen this and laughin and she hung up
but person to person i would say it wouldn't hurt to stop talken for a minute or so that is just me.

yeah i meant person 2 person

If you're a funny guy you can make them work to your advantage (Conan O'Brien, The Office, etc.) But I think over the phone they are never good.

During a silent moment, I usually ask, "What's on your mind?" Great way to restart the conversation and effectively diverts the "blame" of the silent moment away from you.
