every man i have spoken to that has gotten married , including my father advises to avoid it like the plague

i am not joking

apart from the obvious financial problems it starts , women these days are way too mentally unstable to become bonafied wife material

if you need kids for fulfilment then attempt to find someone you can actually put up with for the next 60 years

if not adopt ......which is what i am planning

I've personally never been married before (am not completely opposed to the idea though), but getting married because your parents are pressuring you to do so is a recipe for disaster. In fact, getting married because you were pressured by any sort of externality (friends, society, gf gave you an ultimatum) is an incredibly bad idea.

The more seasoned posters will give you much better advice, I'm expecting.

If you're a man of value.. its a horrible idea. If you're a loser who works at Walmart, then it doesn't matter.

If you're a man who plans to go places in life and be financially set later.. then getting married is an ignorant and moronic thing to do. Basically everything you've built your entire life can be flushed away by some twhat who decided she isn't happy anymore.

On top of that.. you have to commit to ONE vagina and remove all your sexual alternatives from the equation to "make her happy". ONE vagina that loses value by the day as she gets older. 25 year olds don't stay 25 for life.

What logical reason is there to get married? All reasons are emotional and based on social, family and societal pressure. Things only betas would give a sh!t about... since betas are pawns and will always "fall in line" to be a woman's b!tch, society's b!tch or the Government's b!tch.. if it helps his image and makes him look like a hero.

Sorry but "everyone else is doing it" is an excuse we should all stop using after age 7.

It didn't workout for me either. Bu if you must get married, please get a prenup and try not to have kids in the first couple of years of marriage. Prenup only apply to financial matters, not to custody of children.

I'm 34. Out of my friends from high school/college years a few are married. I think one of them is actually happy. The reason being; they dated through college, lived together afterward, and got married at 25ish. They were married for several years before they had any kids. She is actually a quality chick, as rare as that is these days. My buddy locked her down, which was smart. Other than that one couple, everyone I know around my age who is married is either miserable or divorced.

That's a loaded question bro.

To say its a terrible idea and swear off it is a little narrow minded. Sure feminism, media, society have turned men into the enemy who are no good and should bend to a women's will, but that doesn't mean you can't make marriage benefit you.

There are some people are work hard, are well off, get married, have children, and have 25 year old mistresses.

So if you want to get married, get married. But, as in any other deal, protect yourself. If you don't protect yourself, she will decide one day the sky is blue and she is bored, she will call the State, Government and Media to absolutely destroy you. Also, don't expect because you are married she cares about you or will be there when times get rough. She only cares about her image.

So yes, ideally marriage does not benefit men nowadays, as women only care about what's in it for them, but that doesn't mean you can't be smart enough to use it to your advantage.

You really need a woman to pair bond with you sexually to have much of a fighting chance and they only really do that with their first.
That's false. I got married to a virgin girl, didn't work out.

- When it's more like 10% of all married women who cheat instead of 50%....

- When it's at minimum 50% men and 50% women initiating divorce and not 70% women....

- When family courts start making women, and men, go through rigorous psych evals to determine who gets custody of children....

- When women, and men, who get busted cheating on their partner get a criminal conviction attached to their record that follows them the rest of their lives

- When women, and men, who accuse people of domestic violence are court ordered to take polygraph evals....

- When there is a nation wide background check system to query every county in every state to see if they are already married to someone else to prevent bigamy (coming from the guy who married a bigamist, the only one on SS that I know of)

Yeah, then I will say getting married may be an option....

Haha my kinda topic.

Well I'll tell you this, when I was married, I told my single friends to NEVER GET MARRIED. EVER. did say i say n-e-v-e-r?

Now that I'm single again, the thought crosses my mind on and off. The fact that there is a terrible amount of awful girls MEANS there is an amount of non awful girls.

As an accountant for every debit there is always a corresponding. . . ? you answered right, there's always a credit.

If you can find one of these rare girls then date for almost forever really and never promise a future so they don't put up an act till you pop the question, she shouldn't even know there could be a confirmed future (marriage).

Date her for years, 2-3 minimum, seriously! and sign a fcuking prenup SERIOUSLY!

Is getting married a bad idea? Of course not, don't be silly. It's a gamble.

If you find a good woman, it'd be the best experience of your life, no joke.

If you settle with a bad woman, it'd be the very fcuking worst experience of your life, no joke.

While you're in limbo, PLEASE DO NOT IMPREGNANT A GIRL YOU WONT SETTLE WITH.

Ask yourself this? Is there anything in your life you have committed to yourself to for 10 years? Even if you can commit to something for a long time ie marriage which is for 40+ years or more which is hard ... you need the other person to do so as well....

My brother, married 3x..he mega-$$ unlike me, so he could afford it, though the 1st cheated on him for a doctor (branch swing) so she didn't get any $$ in the divorce. 2nd wife got the house and the girls and of course child support, etc etc. 3rd no kids, just to grow old together.

Getting married is a wonderful idea if you have two wonderful people; too often, people get married for the wrong reasons, and in those cases, it's not really a marriage at all.

Expo's 20 Point Marriage Primer

1. You should have dated at least 2 years or more prior to proposing. Women can hide their red flags for that long, and then pull the mask off, revealing their real personality once the ring is on the finger.

2. You should be engaged a year or more prior to tying the knot - and living together. She needs a final test run before she gets your last name.

3. You also should be married more than 3 years before trying to have kids. Nothing worse than bringing life into this world with someone you might grow to hate a year after the wedding is over.

4. You should be over 30 when you tie the knot. There is too much tail to chase in your 20’s to settle down.

5. Don’t marry a fat woman. If she’s lazy with her body, she’s also going to be lazy in other parts of her life, most notably her marriage to you.

6. Don’t marry a divorced woman. Ever. She has proven herself not capable of making a “till death to us part” commitment work in the past. You can, however, be given a free pass if she's widowed.

7. Don’t marry a woman with kids. No need to explain this one.

8. Don’t marry (let alone date) someone you work with.

9. If you are rich (making over $100K per year) get a goddamn prenup.

10. Don't marry a woman under 23 (she's too young), don't marry a woman over 43 (she's too old).

11. Watch how her mother treats her father. This is how she is going to treat you. Don't like it? Are they Divorced? Run!

12. Watch how her father treats your future wife. Bad relationship? Run!

13. Does all she talk about is big weddings, big diamond engagement rings, big houses, and other surface/material things? Run!

14. Does she not have a real job? Run!

15. Has she dealt with depression at some point in her life? Run!

16. Does she take any mood stabilizing drugs? Run!

17. Has she cheated on past boyfriends? Run!

18. Does she do drugs and can drink you under the table? Run!

19. Does she have no real friends? Run!

20. Most importantly - Don't ever marry woman who tries to control you or change you.
