Scary stuff. Do they really think we can afford another war? Are we really willing to risk out financial future and the lives of our soldiers for Israel? What does Israel do for the US?

After Iraq, only a fool would believe what these warmongers are saying, and only a food would support them.

Strangely, I knew a high school history teacher who predicted a war with Iran back in 2007. But maybe he was just a paranoid wack-job. I hope he's wrong, but I wouldn't be all too surprised. The removal of troops from Iraq may have been the first step in preparation for Iran.

A war will be always be afforded when our interests are threatened and inflated. Right now, oil is being compromised. The oil company execs love it because they can jack up the price of oil while feigning red, white,, and blue democracy. The same CEO's who are now headquartered in India and China, by the way.

Most Americans in my opinion have no significant concern or voice or power over its nation's corpolitical elite to wage war.
Agreed.

Beyond anything else war is good for 'business'. Someone has to buy the means to destroy (bullets and tanks) and the means to rebuild (nails, steel).

The oligarchs make money in the destruction and the rebuilding

and the cost in lives?

Well you are all just cattle anyway to the elite.

All this talk sounds like just talk. Haven't people been talking of impending war with Iran since, the 1970s (best era of music ) ??

I know for sure, since at least 2004 US has been contemplating a war with Iran. I checked the video, and didn't see anything official. Just talk from nobodies. With maybe the exception of the Israeli senator.

I just don't understand how US could get away with a "war" that's basically searching labs for nuclear blueprints. As someone said above, after Iraq, who would support a similar war?

How would Iran attack Israel first? Israel is a powerhouse, and Iran's still trying to develop its first nuke. Cmon people....

also inb4 lock lol

In my opinion, if Bush II were in office, we'd likely have executed airstrikes already.

War with Iran is inevitable.

It IS going to happen. It's not if. But WHEN.

Doesn't matter who's in office.

The American corporate and politcial elite WANT a conflict with Iran. Majority American hatred and fear of Iran, skyrocketing oil prices, and increasing stock prices of war tool manufacturers will make just about any CEO/politician cream in his pants. This is a win-win situation for poiliticians and corporate execs.

And war with Iran will probably start with Iran's bombing of Isreal.
Anybody with half a brain can see this is over oil. And who's to say what's right and wrong? I'm sure there are morals in there as well.

And I agree wholeheartedly about your statements on the President. It matters very little who is President nowadays, the economy will do what it's going to do....they really have little control over that. About the only thing the President can do is appoint a Supreme Court judge. I find it hilarious that so many people freaked out about Obama being elected, as if he was really going to change the United States. 4 years later, the world is still turning.

And as far as Israel concerned, whoever has the best policy regarding Israel will get my vote, period. Not saying either way how I feel about it, but if you know my message board persona, it's easy to take a guess.

many Americans, it seems, deep down want war with Iran, whether that be because of their own misguided xenophobic views on Islam and the Arab world, their Zionist tendencies or a desire to live vicariously through the power of their own governments.

Edit: America may as well press a big self destruct button on their public finances.

Well of course

Only endless war can feed a banking system built on false money.

Notice since the FED took over (December 23, 1913) we've had endless war for 100 years!...no coincidence...finance a war, make people pay the war for generations. a perfect scheme for bankers

Thanks for the reply! I didn't expect such a classy post.

I respectfully disagree. Saddam bombed Isreal at the beginning of the first Gulf War. In my opinion, Iran is definitely capable--and WILLING--to launch a preemptive strike against Isreal.
But wasn't Saddam was the leader of Iraq, not Iran? I don't see why Iran would want to attack Israel, even if antagonized....seems like Iran is minding their own business. Maybe I'm being easy on them

I just feel like America's only problem with Iran is nuclear aspirations. WhichI think it's strange, because other countries like Pakistan and N. Korea already have em!! But we're focused on Iran.

So yeah I guess like members are saying, it be about oil

Yes and no. In 1979, the USA likely wanted to wage war with Iran, and in my opinion, it would have been a good idea to do so. But, the USA couldn't because Vietnam had just ended in 1975, and President Carter knew that he wouldn't stand a chance being reelected if he waged another war, this time in Iran. The American people weren't ready for it.

I personally think that the USA was depending on its ally, Saddam Hussein, to do the dirty work. And Saddam did, for 8 long years. In 1988, the war between Iraq and Iran ended, but just two years later, the Gulf War erupted. So the USA hasn't really been able to do the job. Hasn't had a good enough excuse yet. Until now.
Yeah I read about the Iraq - Kuwait invasion in class. Seems like US kind of turned its back on Iraq after helping them out for so long.

Also I think the difference between today, and post-Vietnam years was that Israel is such a big factor now.

All biofuels are running roughly $5/gallon in price right now, so I think it would be hard for gas to stay at $10/gallon for very long, as it would then become cost-effective to convert to alternative fuels.

\.

true.

which would then cause food prices to skyrocket....corn has already risen significantly due to the smallish growth in biofuel demand....if this were to rise because of 10gal gas then you can forget about cornflakes.

this is one big ratfvck to turn us into more of a slave world than we already are.

It's not a non-threat, but clearly it's a major threat to Israel and one, of many countries, which should be on our radar. I would agree that the media and various fear-mongers are using Iran and that it's not nearly as big a threat as it's made out to be. Much like a shark. Looks scary, but the truth of it is that we're much more of a threat to it than it is to us.

The death sanctions on Iran that this administration applied should've already been viewed as an act of war/aggression...

Sanctions are an act of war.

I am going to learn Arabic, travel to Persia, and get to the bottom of this!!!

Arabic Lessons
Actually, "Persians" speak Farsi, which is written in Arabic script but isn't Arabic. About half of Iranians are Arabs and speak Arabic.

Anyway, look at a globe. US occupations surround Iran on all sides (including the Navy in the Persian Gulf). The oil cartel wants to denationalize the Iranian national oil company so they can privately own it. Next invasion after Iran: Saudi Arabia.

I've been expecting this for years.
