Blackberry Storm looks delicious, if i recall it's 3G as well so you'd have no problem there, it's MicroSD so you can have as much memory as you deem (it fits up to 16 gigs at once. you can carry more cards on you for whatever reason.) I'm seriously consideing trading up from my Pearl.

Though if you want something good yet a little older (and quite possibly cheaper) go for the Nokia N95 8gig. only issue is it's not a touch phone.

I don't like the Iphone, it's too bulky for my tastes, though if that's ok by you, feel free.

the G1 just looks like a clone TBH.

I have a sony ericsson xperia. It was a gift from my boss and is our "company" phone. It's a slick touch phone with loads of memory and a functional slide keyboard. It's nice and flashy but for business purposes, not the greatest. I'm definitely getting a blackberry storm when they go on sale this month. I tried a demo one at a verizon store and was very impressed with the lay out and usability.

The iPhone 3G is sweet, I've had a lot of smart phones and it's the best so far. Has a few flaws that boil down to the Apple Law:

"If we do it, we do it well, if we didn't try, you really shouldn't want to do that."

For instance the contact manager is awesome ... except you can't beam contacts via ... well I was gonna say blue tooth but you just can't do it any way.

The text entry is the best non-dedicated (or soft touchscreen, whatever) text entry I've ever seen. But you can't cut and paste ... ever.

And so on.

The second best (and my previous device) was the original Samsung Blackjack. Still a decent choice in it's newest iteration

I have an iPhone 3G, girls see me with it and they approach me, and ask "omg is that the new iPhone?", think its awesome, play around on it, then add their number to my contacts.

Theres status with it, its awesome. It is by far the best phone ive ever used too, I jail broke it, and it does everything you could ever think of. 3G is fast too, and Its awesome to have the internet on the go.

What did you pay for it and how much is your monthly bill including the internet plan?

you guys should check out the HTC Touch Pro. check out this review

cooler looking touch interface than the iPhone (looks like a rolodex), plus a slide out keypad because it's ridiculous trying to text on the iPhone anyway. It's also made by HTC, who designed the G1, the Tilt, AND the Xperia

it's on Sprint right now and it's coming out on ATT next week renamed as the Fuze

I second this. The touch pro is going to be amazing.

Currently I have an HTC touch (aka vogue aka elf)

it's a sweet phone, lots of buggy issues but if you read xda forums you can mod it yourself into a sweet phone. Currently my modded touch is 100 x better than an iphone.

But if I want an iphone I can mod it into that as well :D

the great equalizer...modding.

iphone is what you see if what you get...and you're stuck with it

Too bad I can't afford it at the moment - I only have an iPod Touch.

The iPhone is by far the best cellphone, especially if you jailbreak it. You can install all these cracked paid applications/games and it's just so awesome. All those applications/games were designed by companies like Sega so they are incredibly well done. Internet, emails and youtube on the go. I'm telling you there's nothing like it...

The iPhone runs a slimmed down version of Mac OS X too and it's frequently being updated.

The iphone is pretty sweet. My dad just got one and I borrowed it this weekend to get a feel for it. I'm just not careful enough with phones to trust myself yet with one.

The Blackberry Storm looks pretty interesting I've been waiting to find a phone I like with verizon to get a business line and this phone might just be it.

I've used dozens (60+) of HTC phones and unfortunately the one thing they all had in common was a mediocre cell radio. If you live and stay in a strictly urban area then you're OK but they don't grab signal as well as the Motorolas and Samsungs.

I was very pleasantly surprised that the iPhone 3G is up to par with it's radio, and the WiFi implementation is easy on the batteries as well. Past HTC devices would eat their own face when WiFi was enabled but I just leave it on all the time on my iPhone without any huge issues.

Chicks do dig it - it went around a group of (Flock? Herd? Murder?) women in a bar playing games and taking pics - when I got it back after 90 minutes I had 5-6 new phone numbers (2 with pics - lol) and the battery was only 50% gone.

Yeah, I live and work in LA anyway so I'm not that worried. I know Motorolas and Nokias are the best phones in terms of reception but I like flagship smartphones and PDA phones. I had a Samsung i730 for over 3 years when I was on Verizon. Reception was average but I hacked the hell out of it and made it do whatever I want.

I had a Samsung Blackjack 2 for the last few months while trying to figure out whether to get an iPhone, Xperia, or a Fuze when I switched to AT&T. Didn't like typing on the iPhone and I heard the Xperia has a lot of problems. So I picked up the Fuze today. I've been playing with it all night and so far it locks onto 3G much more reliably than the Blackjack did.

the iphone by a country mile.

I'm a tech by trade, and the iphone is on a different level. it's pretty easy to program different apps for the iphone and actually use them. that alone puts the iphone in a different class to me.

Also there is an actual community of people WRITING apps along with a well established delivery channel, not just some hypothetical ability to do so.

O just got a Samsung Omnia! It's the best cell phone I've ever owned. Windows mobile 6.2 interfaces with my laptops at work and at home with no issues. Although I miss out on things like identifying and purchasing music ala iphone, I have to say that for business applications, this phone is definitely the crowned prince.

For biz the best is really probably a RIM device. Everything else, iPhone UNLESS you are a C/C++ developer and want to write apps - the MS Mobile SDK kicks ass.

This is not from one or a few devices, I am a developer who has worked with and used literally dozens of phones and handled hundreds on a daily basis. If you text a lot the devices with a real physical QWERTY KB are better than iPhone for texting.
