There is no denying, having an iPhone or iPad is cooler than anything else. There is no one who had one and said they getting Anton Andropov from China Telecommunications because it has more USB ports, 1000 dpi resolution, and is open source. Then only one who's hating are those who doesn't have one. hahahaha

I'm hating the iPad because it's a frustrating POS, a toy that doesn't live to it's full potential as a tablet device. I'm hoping iOS 5 will fix some of it's shortcomings but knowing Apple they'll probably remove more features because **** you paying customer.

I wasn't and am not impressed by the ipad 2. It does little more than the original which did little more than a net book. I like apple and all but there are some people who are literally zombie cult members to their products. I like to be rational when it comes to me doling out money for stuff but I can't have a legitimate points based conversation with anyone over apple products. Either it's the best thing since sliced bread or it's over priced sewer waste. Thank god the company I work for pays for all the junk we have so I can try all the new tech out without being bothered.

Now that I jailbroke my iPad I understand it a little more. TouchPad it is not, and nobody claims it to be a touchpad.

You know how in Windows 7 and Vista you have gadget bar, or you know of google desktop, well you drop gadgets onto gadget bar or google desktop. In this sense iPad is a windows gadget bar or google desktop, you install apps (gadgets) onto it. Whereas a touchpad is suppose to be a notebook without keyboard, and is expected to be as powerful as a computer.

There are its own pluses to having a gadget bar instead of fully blown comp. Simplicity.

With it I can make a skype call, send messages on windows live messenger, use ICQ, check e-mail, browse the web, get my coordinates via aGPS, etc.. Looking for ability to bring down a router via something similar to LOIC.

iPad is great, I'm enjoying using it..... iPad is revolutionary. I haven't been so hooked to something this way since when I first got my first computer with Windows 95 back in 1997.

Boys, I am in LOVE! She is called iPad 2. I have a lime green and orange cover for her. She even wakes me in the morning. She is the reason I have not been on here for about a week. God, I miss her already and I am only about 20 feet from her. I dare anyone to pick her up and not feel those curves. Hell, iPad 1 felt like any other tablet. It was bulky and felt like a machine. My new girl is completely different to her older and uglier sister. My girl has soft and subtle curves. Girlish, yet sensual. She looks even better when I take her cover off. Tonight I will fall asleep to her uncovered beauty and wonderful sound.

This goes to show how hard it is to find an unbiased opinion on anything that Apple has market-share in.

Something like the "tablet" market has two kinds of people...people who irrationally love everything Apple, and people who irrationally hate everything Apple. I probably fall more into the latter category than the former, only because in failing to support Adobe Flash, they have pretty much told their customers, "you don't tell us what YOU want, we tell you what you SHOULD want". That doesn't go over well with me.

That being said, I'm sure that both the Xoom and the iPad are clever devices. For most people, they are completely unnecessary and are more Internet "toys" than "tools". Their only advantage over a laptop computer is lightweight mobility, and you're giving up a lot of functionality for it.

Let's be honest...they're oversized smartphones that don't make phonecalls. You're not as "cool" as you think you are just because you have a quasi-useless piece of consumer technology.

That being said...I saw a Xoom the other day and am considering buying it, just because I'm a bit of a tech-geek for this stuff. But I have no intention of "showing it off".

Oh but iPad is not a computer at all, it's a gadget. Easiest way to understand it is to picture being able to take with you everywhere a Vista Gadgetbar. It could show you maps and via GPS tell you where you're at and over lay satellite photos over it. It could let you make a video call, send an SMS, or just dial a number. At a gym you could record your progress. You could record your spendings in real time and at the end of the month have a clearer picture of your finances. There more than 100,000 different ways of using it. And if you have Cydia and AppSync all those ways are at no cost to you.

iPad is a level above of what we think of as computer. iPad is a utilization of computer technology that allows you to take with you on the road a gadgetbar.

As far as flash question, flash plays on iPad through an addon. It does everything that's needed as a matter of fact. I'm an IT and I don't take notebook with me too work anymore, no need for that.

Funny thing is I bought them to sell them in a part of the world where there isn't an iPad. Buy for 800 sell for 2000. Sold one, ordered second, but it took long to arrive, they opened Apple stores here, so I could only make 200 bucks on it. I left one for myself only because I couldn't sell it well enough. Prior to using it I was even hateful toward iPads, and thinking how you all think. But use it and you realize how much behind technologically you are with your notebooks and netbooks and the bigtouch pads. iPad is something entirely new and revolutionary.

Be sure to go into an apple store and check it out!

Ipad is not really a business tool unless you are showing pictures etc like a wedding photographer - go for a Macbook air - nearly as thin as iPad but a million times more versatile.

Browsing, multimedia, and social networking. Along with games and some personal "gadget" apps. Think of it as a dashboard for life.

For presenting or reading docs, it's sexy. For working on docs, you'd be better off with a real laptop. Billing software...I doubt the software you use has an app.

It has office tools. Reading and writing ms word and exel and presentations is not a problem. As far as billing software, if it's for windows, I just rdp to my work computer and it like that. I'm in IT and you know how life without a notebook and windows isn't worth it for us. Well I was pleasantly surprised that it was just my own blurry imagination playing tricks, iPad does it all.

I have a smartphone (Android) where I can check my email and browse the web on my couch if need be. I have wi-fi in my house with a computer on every floor. I have a 360 connected to Netflix with hours an hours of entertainment.

I'd be better off buying 500 burritos then spending that ludicrous money on an iPad. I'm actually surprised it took off like it did, but I guess you can't underestimate the power of the media telling the consumer what their peers find attractive.

Yet again Apple have found an niche market or certainly created one. While I don't need or want one, the people I know have got an iPad seem more than happy with it.

Seems you need to know your market... (guess the same applies to women too).

Crystal TV is an awesome app. Crystal clear viewing of the major Russian TV networks. Amazing. The design and fashion apps are killer. MLB TV app. is stunning. Yes, you can do word processing, check email, spreadsheets, etc. Photoshop is coming out with a killer app. that includes layers. For those who travel it is a must. The iPad 2 seems lighter and thinner than the iPhone 4. Mine has worked flawlessly.

The Zoom sucks. Go pick one up. Yes, Apple has made my life richer and more enjoyable. Visit any major fashion house, design studio, photographer's bag, etc. and you will now find Apple products.

In three weeks I am traveling abroad. I will be packing an iPhone 4, Ipad 2, and an old Nano. I have the camera attachment so I can transfer Raw files to the iPad 2 and then send them back to the motherstation for later work when I get back. Yes, I am awesome.:rock:
