Hey everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but I've come to this site from time to time and have learned quite a few things here. Anyway, my situation is obviously quite common and I'm sure there are plenty of guys here who have been in the same situation. Just looking for some input and advice on what to do.
Anyway, I work with this girl and have known her for 3 years now. We're pretty good friends, but not like friendzone. We've only hung out outside of work maybe like 2 or 3 times, but in groups. We often talk at work. I've always found her attractive, but thats it really. I guess we sort of have that brother/sister type of relationship as we pull pranks on each other, rip on each other, joke around, etc. She has even been helpful to me with other women I was interested in over the years.
That being said, the past couple months it seems like she has taken a bit more of an interest in me as well. I must say in the 3 years I've known her, I've never done any physical kind of flirting until recently. I actually slapped her ass one day and she gave me a surprised look while I just smiled and walked off. The funny part was when she asked me why I did that a couple days later. Ever since that one little touch, she has started doing the same with me now. Since then she has invited me out a couple of times for after work drinks and other social activities, but with other friends as well. She tends to even tease me now about other girls and about wanting to sleep with her, but I just throw it back in her face and tell her how I keep catching her looking at me (which I do lol). Heck, she even mentions some funny things I've done over the years, which I don't even remember. Anyway, last Wednesday I had plans with some mutual friends and I invited her to come. She actually had plans, but postponed them for the the next day and came out with us. We all had a good time and since then we've been talking/flirting a bit more now.
Now I'm sure she is taking more of an interest in me, but my problem is more of a mental thing I suppose. I've never been interested in a friend before and every girl I've ever dated or slept with I've known a short time. Should I just be direct and just ask her out or try some other approach?
