Seriously guys this isn;t about the alcohol -it's about getting her to unwind and have a good time - you know, forget her troubles so she can associate that liberating feeling with you. It's very hard to do the same when you are both stuffing your faces, plus dinner just makes people sleepy.

This is all about stimulating, and getting her in the mood to have fun. You can substitute alcohol for anything else that helps people unwind. Good music, good company, nice ambience. Don't get so stuck on the booze aspect that you miss the value of this post - it's damn spot on in my experience.
