My intent is not to be argumentative, but it seems to me that giving in to fear is surrendering to emotion, and it is the proper application of rational thought that couteracts that emotion. It seems that you are exprerssing the opposite, if I'm understanding you correctly.

Logical thought is useless in regards to emotion.

Example: Logical man feels fear. He tries use reason to eliminate his fear. "I shouldn't be scared, it's not rational, I will be fine." The result?

I have seen many highly intelligent and logical men ruled by fear. In particular, fear of women. Fear of approaching, fear of conversation, fear of sex.

You cannot change the fear you feel, only your perception. That is why some people are thrilled with roller coaster rides, and some are terrified.

exactly what muscle guy said

fear is emotion, and emotion cannot be rationalized and deleted. it can only be channeled into something more positive.

It's just like a chick. You guys think you are all logical, but really, every human experiences emotions. it's what makes us tick. some do more than others, but that's beside the point

A Chick cannot rationalize herself into liking someone she doesn't like even though in her "logical mind" she should. Likewise, you cannot logic yourself out of feeling afraid, sad, mad, ect. You should not fight how you feel, because that just makes things worse.

The difference between those who surrender to emotion and those who don't is that the people who don't surrender face theirs and except that they feel that way, and use it to there advantage by looking at things a different way

Yep, but forum responses can always be meditated on prior to posting them.

You type up your post, look it over, read it a couple times, then... you say **** it, not worth it...

On the other hand, in person it can be a different story
yeah i agree with you, not sure what he was doing

No this thread is about perceiving negative emotions differently.

Example:
Shy guy has fear of approaching a woman.

Change that perception of fear. Focus your nervous energy into excitement so you can look forward to talking to a girl.

Not responding has nothing to do with controlling your emotions, it's passivity. Your comment shows your weakness. And leave your superior tone at the door. I know looking down on people makes you feel good, that's just a sign of your low self esteem. Tsk, tsk, my @$$
