Because of my shoulder, I can't to incline press at high weights.

What is the difference between high weight + low reps and low weight + high reps?

I don't think my shoulder will hurt if i did low weight and high reps.
will I still get stronger?

I'm pretty sure doing low weights and high reps will make you more lean and toned. It basically adds definition. I don't think it will allow you to get a whole lot stronger. In order to get stronger you need to lift heavier weights. But sometimes the low weight and high reps are good if you're happy where you are at.

Dude...no offense, I'm not trying to be a jerk but you need to get educated. Low weight and high reps are a recipe for muscle destruction. That's the last thing you want to do. Read the Vault okay?

Crazy Asian - why does your shoulder hurt? See a doctor maybe about it? That doesn't sound natural. Just out of curiousity, how far do you bring the bar down when you bench?

As Stallion said, the "high reps = definition" myth is exactly that - a myth.

Higher reps will build muscle and you'll still gain strength - mostly in that rep range, but your overall strength of lower reps will also increase gradually (i.e. your 1RM).

Maybe you could try flat bench as your heavy lift and then do inclines with dumbbells as your auxillary lift? Or search ironaddicts.com for some shoulder rehabbing info and go light on your inclines for now.

I think his original problem was with flat bench if I remember correctly.

Instead of the 5 rep range try out 2x10-12 or the like and see how it feels. If you do 2x10 one week, try 2x12 the next and if you get that add 2.5kg and go for 10reps again, 12 if you can. If you can do that without problems and progress then that is fine for the time being. If you still have pain drop barbell presses and go with dumbbells for now.

However you are going to have to get the issues sorted out. Check out IronAddicts for shoulder rehab, intensemuscle, and stronglifts. These problems could stem from a wide array of things, muscle imbalance, bad form, muscle inflexibility, these things being the most likely.

Try and get some videos of you lifting at a heavy weight, that would help to diagnose a problem.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

My shoulder problem started with a combination of flat benching with my hands too wide on the bar + bad rotation in freestyle swimming.

My rotator cuff tendonitis got so bad that I literally couldn't lift my right arm, and had to lift it with my left arm to get into clothes and stuff. It's been over a year of recovering, icing and taking meds. It finally stopped hurting. I can swim now without it hurting much. I don't think I should do any lifting that has a pushing movement. Cause that's how I hurt it in the first place.

I know how you guys are against machines, but there is a machine in my school's gym that works the chest w/o the pushing movement (it's like a squeezing movement). I would still get a stronger/bigger chest from that right?
just slower progress?

Do a shoulder specialization program to strengthen your shoulders and your incline will go up. Work all sides of the shoulder.
