To be a *real* girl you need a cute face, a loyal heart, and a submissive nature. You don't need any *skills* per se - since your man is just going to do it

But to be a *real* man - you need skills. To be a man is to DO things, to be able to overcome nature. This video really hits close to home because survival skills are the most basic skills.

I'm watching all 6 and...damn, that is incredible.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

How many people would give up halfway through this

This guy is a real man, if I had a vagina I'd let him hit that....what?

I just watched all 6 videos. Incredible. That guy could build things with his hands that most people couldn't with a textbook manual and power tools.

We're so dependent on modern conveniences yet this guy lived an amazing life without any of them.

I agree that what this man did was great and I have nothing but respect for him.

My question is: wouldn't we all get bored just living there? I mean we all can build our house and live in it but you don't have to be isolated from the world to do that.

I enjoy nature but I also love civilization.

haha

Although I admire him for his survival skills and his self sustaining skills, I think he took it a bit too far for my taste. Its one thing to build a log cabin by yourself but its another to live there in isolation for almost half of your life. A man needs also a piece of ass in his life not just a piece of mind, I wondered if this guy didn't turn off his camera to fvck a mountain goat.

I would have liked to have seen his adjustment to civilization after he decided to come back in 1998, he would be like "WTF happen here! and what the hell is this feminism bullsh1t?!"

Beside's I doubt the modern woman would be impressed with this man. If he would have invited a woman to live with him, he would have expected her to do some share of the work like gardening cooking and cleaning. she would be like "uggh,,, don't you have a microwave or something? I don't know how to cook, and I let my mexican cleaning lady clean everything... where the hell is Starbucks around here?! oh my gosh I would be isolated from my friends and other people giving me attention!! no I don't want some smelly bear hide, I want to go shopping in a mall and spend lots of money, I can't live here in the snow! I need to lay on the beach somewhere to be happy!!!!"

Hehe, in which case he would do well to snag himself a fine traditional living piece of amish ass instead. :p

or go to Utah and build a polygamist ranch for himself and his 4 inbred looking wives.

No man can be in total isolation for this long otherwise he would go insane (or be already insane for choosing such a lifestyle). I am sure during the summer months he would have asked his buddy to fly him back to the big city in Alaska so some grizzled looking prositute can blow him, and then buy a whole stack of playboy's for the cabin to keep him warm during the winter.

I don't think living without human interaction is very desirable. If I lived half my life in isolation I would consider myself a complete failure.

He did make trips to visit family, so he had a connection to the world. I asked a builder friend of mine today about cabins. He told me where he built one. He used a generator up there to be able to use his vast array of power tools because there was no electricity. He also told me that I would have to use Pine and not Spruce unless I had it shipped in, because there's hardly any spruce here.

He also used shingles for the roof on the cabin he built, when I asked him if he'd used moss. He also coated or lacquered all the logs and sh!t so the cabin he built is a lot more modern, and larger.

I'd like to build my own one day with his help utilizing mostly primitive tools like **** Proenneke did.

I have my Bug Out Bag, however, to be able to sustain months in the wilderness, if worse came to worst. It'd be nice (maybe even vital) to learn how to build a cabin on the land you've picked out though.
